This is why I'm asking regarding to the no update yet? comment.

I'm curious why deposits have to be made if they are so far off from ready. Even when pre-ordering figs/vehicles most shops, depends who you shop with wont charge you any money until it's ready to ship.

Unless I have missed the reason.

Maybe they needed the deposit for the materials?

but would love to see a Tim Burton Batman's Bat Signal as well!

I'm also a fan of Burton's incarnation, but I don't think I'll ever build that version of the batsignal.

Wouldn't it be sweet once each model is built it's packaged in fancy glossy packaging or something.

I can do the graphics for the box, but the real problem will be in the inside packaging. This would have to be foam or plastic. I don't have that kind of resourse for that. I also agree with intothevoid that most users would throw out the boxes since they'll take a lot of space.

I'm working on them every chance I get. But my schedule is really tight right now due to a few school projects I have to do. So guys please be patient.

You've probably missed the part that I'm a full time student, which means I have no money . Therefore I cannot afford to build the batsignals beforehand. So like ro926 said the deposit is to allow me to get the necessary materials.

I'm so far down the list, I probably won't even see mine til the end of the year! LOL

Indeed, 6 to 8 months. But on the bright side you could receive it under your Xmas tree

guys i think all these constant questions about updates, and when everyone will get their bat signal is taking time away from 1mod6 to actually get the work done. i don't mean this in a bad way and please don't take offence, but bugging him won't make it come any faster - slower in fact. don't know about you guys, but i'd rather have him relaxed and working on these things in peace than badgered and stressed about updates. he gave approximate timescales when you signed up. i'd go by that. this is a complex piece of work after all (the most complex i've seen on these boards) - of course it will take time.

and if the reason for constantly longing for a update comes from some kind of fear that he will not do his job, know that the ones in the first batch will be the "test bunnies" because surely they will post pictures of their fully received bat signal just wait and see for the first batch. And let the dude do his job..

fair enough. but the funny thing is, it's been less than a month. and already people are "antsy". he did warn that these were time consuming when everyone signed up. i'd understand if it was 3 months down the line and the first batch still wasn't done. but saying "i'm in X batch, when will i have mine" is pointless. put yourself in his shoes. what would your answer to that be? or would you even want to answer or just get on with working on them?

exactly, it is not a convincing argument that they paid a lot of money. Its not enought to justify stalky behaviour.

What about people buying from ebay in pre order?
what about the people who pre ordered and paid for the tumbler?
I think those people have the right to ask constantly for updates to the sellers (but if the sellers dont know either...that is another matter)

Here in this case, you know who is in wich batch + he said how long it would take to make the first batch + you know it has still to be made!
We know all these things so we do not have to worry and still people ask for an update, WTF?!
You guys already know what you need to know, he gave all the details and info, so leave the guy alone and let him work in piece.

I know I am in the last batch, and I know the last batch will have the signal in about one year...so in meantime I will be seeing pictures of owners from the previous batch + if there was something wrong with payments, surely it will be posted here..
