re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I liked Spiderman comics back when I collected, but I just think his villians don't translate well to movies. Maybe it's just me.

Yeah, at least not in their more classic looks. Honestly the best looking villian so far was Doctor Octopus. Green Goblin looked pretty silly, Sandman and Venom might have worked but the movie was so bad it's hard to say.

Rhino would look pretty ridiculous if he followed the original appearance, but I'd say just nix him and go with something that doesn't look like a transformer.

And who is the blue lighting bolt guy supposed to be? Doesn't ring any bells for me :huh

Electro? Just a guess. I haven't seen what you guys are talking about and really didn't like the first Garfield film...

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Why does Rhino look like Mark I in the ASM2 trailer? :dunno

Well, I love the costume. With Garfield's build I feel it's the best Web Head has looked in a major film thus far.... Rhino always seemed like a goofy choice to me, but I assume he and Electro are not really the focal point of the film anyway.

Jaime Foxx is Electro.

Yeah, I like Garfield's build too. ;)

I knew that was going to happen. :lol I just like the thinner look... Though JR is my favorite SM artist, and I feel the McGuire version looks more like that... still, I always liked drawing Spidey really lean and thin, I think he looks more spider like that way, and Garfield fits the bill.

Wait until you see my fat pic I'm about to post.

Here's a little of my Spider-Man fan boy that needs to vent....

Okay, so Batman and Spider-Man have the best rouges galleries in all of comic-dom. DC was wise to keep those characters at the forefront of the Batman mythos and to slowly update their looks over time. 60's versions of the Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman and Joker are no where near what we see now in movies, cartoons and comics. the evolution has been steady but consistent. There's clear Silver age, Bronze, modern and heroic incarnations of all things Batman.

Spidey on the other hand never had his rouges updated in a clear, steady way. We all still think of the Green Goblin wearing a ridiculous mask and furystrom Coach murse. Sure, there's been other versions but there's been so many that we're no longer sure what is what. If Marvel's Batman is Spider-Man, and it is, they've failed to keep his supporting cast relevant and fresh, and that shows in the films.

And that's why a guy that once had around 450 Amazing Spider-Man issues has been selling his most valuable issues over the last year. :(
