Let's see, Rick, Bam, fury, Chien, Gibby, JJJ, Jay, Scott, Waller and Kyle are the ones I know from the pic. Am I missing anyone I should recognize?

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

For the first time at the Asian supermarket I saw an Asian dude taller than me! Abomination, I say. A bomination!! :lol

I love the Asian supermarket out here, Mitsuwa. They have a lot of my favorite foods, but they stopped selling the sun-dried, flattened squids. Gotta find a place that sells those. I do hate all the wannabe white kids that dress like they're Japanese anime characters and hang out there, though. Damn gaijin.

I think she needs some suspenders.

oh man, i'm sorry ben. but maybe you guys have other things i common. what about big bang theory? I find that everyone loves that, nerd or not.

Her favorite show is Say Yes to the Dress. :yuck

She's never seen Alien, Predator, Terminator or Avengers. She's seen parts of Jurassic Park, but not the whole thing. :ohbfrank:

Not sure but I have learned this to kill the deal for me. So much of my love evolves around the pop culture and nerd world, I would never enter into a relationship that starts like that.

It's too much to overcome.

I also find that my friends that are both geeks at heart are so happy it's insane. I am super jealous of them. I would rather you find yourself a hot geek girl than just some hot girl.

Her favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption. I can get behind that. She's a true girly girl and I can understand that.

She actually said that she thinks it's awesome that Star Wars and my other favorite geeky things make me happy, but she just doesn't think she'll be into Star Wars and stuff. She wants to go to see Godzilla with me, so that's pretty cool. She really is a very sweet girl.

Got MOS last week for 13 bucks at Target as well as The Wolverine from Avfin for my SS gift... I'm half way through Wolverine and have yet to open Superman. :(

I thought you weren't a fan of Man of Steel, Rich. You giving it another chance?

Big Bang Theory isn't really realistic.

I gave up on looking. The speed dating thing at CVI really sucked. Perhaps I'll do it at C2E2 since the girls will be more local. But it really really sucked at CVI. I don't remember if I told you guys about this. There was ONE girl who I really hit it off with. She was fantastic, and she was from SE WI (Racine or Kenosha, I forget which). After the speed dating, I waited around for her (which you are not supposed to do). After she exited, she went straight up to a dude, and they kissed. He was NOT in the speed dating. He was waiting for her. She already had a boyfriend! I think she was paid to be there! There were a few girls who walked in after the session had started, and she was one of them. I think they went out and rounded a few girls up and paid them.

I also shy away from online dating sites, because of a bad experience I had when it first started. I only tried it once. I was thin, and had a full head of hair back then. I picked the girl up at her house. She was standing outside, talking on the phone. She gave me the "one second" finger, went in her house, grabbed her jacket, and we were off. We were doing "dinner and a movie", which I no longer like to do after this experience. We get to the theater, and I pay for both of us. I buy us snacks. We get our seats. She says she's going to run to the bathroom and will be right back. SHE NEVER RETURNED! She must have given a signal to her friend on the phone to pick her up at the theater. Instead of coming up with an excuse to cancel the date, she leads me on, I pay for both tickets and lots of food, only to get the shaft. That was my last online dating experience. Perhaps it has improved in the last 10 years, but I'll never forget that one terrible experience.

I agree. Big Bang Theory is pretty entertaining, but those guys are all nerd stereotypes. I'm also bummed they wrote out Kate Micucci.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences, Kenben. I'm no stranger to that kind of bullcrap, so I know how much it sucks. There are nice women out there still, though.

A slight detour...

anyone in the need for the Batman PF Exclusive?
I'm about to call and cancel in 5min.
If someone needs it, let me know.
Just have to pay what I paid + shipping to your door (FedEx Ground/Home delivery...probably $25-35?!?).

I want this really badly Aaron, but I can't go down that path. If I get any DC pf, it'd have to be Harley Quinn and that'd be it for me.

Nope. So the Regular version comes with a brown jacket and one head. The EXs come with an additional head and we can choose between blue and brown jackets... kinda crappy as I would have liked both. I'm going blue and trying to snag a brown on TA.

That's a bummer. Especially since I want the brown jacket, but I'd like to have both heads.

C2E2 gonna :rock

It should be pretty awesome. Hopefully, I don't skip out and avoid all the freaks again.

BTW, Madcow I started assembling the Dracula model last night... I'm pretty excited about working on it. I'm not sure how good mine will look but I was searching for other completed examples and came across this mind-blowing example... if I can get mine to look half as good I'll be happy :lol

Drac_Bat_01.jpg

Awesome! I can't wait to see too the end result. Truth be told that Veil1 sent that to me a few months ago with some other vintage Monster toys as a freebie. He said if I couldn't use it to pass it on to someone that could. The minute I saw your name as my SS I knew it was all you. I know you'll have fun with it. :)

That would be one I'd hate to part with as well... just such a classic piece. So is nothing you have on display or do you have some pieces out, but just not much room?

I have absolutely nothing on display. My wife won't let it in the shared living spaces (living room, bed room, etc.) so it all sits boxed in my spare garage. We've always planned to build me an office but just haven't had the funds. It's been almost 10 years and I'm just exhausted from looking at boxes and buying then packing things away with "intentions".

Cold day on hoth again

Ooof I can bet. My father is a Mail Carrier and I was thinking about him all day and hoping he was staying warm. It doesn't bother him but still I worry.

Ehh, she needs a sandwich or 12 for my tastes but she's pretty.

I actually found my dream woman online last night:

:panic:

Agreed. Find someone that shares your passion. :lecture

Somethings are much easier said than done, unfortunately...

That's what I was trying to tell you last night when we were messaging. Stupid shows my wife makes me watch.....Vanderpump Rules....

vanderpump-rules-season-1-playlist-101-01-raise-your-glass.jpg

It's inhuman.... the whole group of these self absorbed morons are eating at some place in Cabo for this chicks birthday. One of her friends is brutally dumped at the table by her boyfriend and when she wants to go to her room because she's heartbroken the birthday girl totally rips into her and calls her selfish, telling her "It's my birthday, this isn't about you." It was beyond anything I could imagine. The most petty *** people ever.

Yeah sorry about that. My messenger program was cutting out for some reason. I couldn't watch that ****. Reality TV makes me violently angry.

I think bad karma is coming at me because I possibly let one get away...
I knew a girl, and had a lot in common with her. I was NEVER interested in her romantically, but she had it for me big-time. Her friend kept telling me how crazy she was about me, but I truly wasn't interested. Then I planned a trip to Las Vegas. She lived in L.A. She was really twisting my arm to come visit me. Finally I gave in, and said she could. She was gonna stay in my room, but just for the one night. Well, she brought booze with her and intentionally got me drunk. But I knew what she was doing. I wasn't that drunk. However, I went along with it, and slept with her. After that, she thought we were boyfriend and girlfriend. I still just wanted to be friends, but she wanted so much more. The hard part was, we had SOOOO much in common! But I just wasn't interested. Besides the lack of attraction, these were negative factors:
1) She lived in L.A., I lived in Milwaukee.
2) She was really really really into video games. I'm talking hard core, playing 12-16 hours a day.
3) She was unemployed (hence, the ability to play games 12-16 hours a day)
4) She was heavily in debt (partly due to being unemployed)
5) I hesitate to list this one, but I'm being honest here. She was unable to have kids, because she previously had cancer. Now, if this was someone I loved, I could deal with this. But I really wasn't into her, and this factor didn't help.

When I ended things, she didn't take it well. I felt terrible about it. Every now and then I think to myself that maybe I'll never do better than her. I've never met anyone that cared that much about me. But unfortunately it wasn't also the reverse.

Dude, the fact they would do that is ****ED UP! :horror

To you guys, I feel your frustration, I went through it many times. The trick is just not to look it, let it find you.

I hope I can be in the next pic. :(

I will be sad if you skip out Ben. I really want to hang with you and punkg. Forget those other guys, I already know them. :lol :lol

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I'm almost certain I'll be there. I'm just messing around.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I just looked at the Sideshow post and there is an exclusive option for the brown parka as well. I'll probably go with that one.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Don't get sucked into the hype that you need to upgrade EVERYTHING. That happened to me when I first switched and I spent way too much time and money upgrading movies that I never even watched on DVD. I've wised up since and only buying the essentials.

One thing you've got going for you is that BR has been around long enough now that the prices are very reasonable.

Wow, just skimming the thread but that sounds like the WORST Exclusive ever. WTF?

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Thank you, Thom! And thank you for your encouragement. It's meant a lot! You could do this too, you know?

I would love to be a part of the legacy, too, but I ain't get the refs! Once you get yours, and if and when you're comfortable, hook me up with the contacts. In the meantime I will happily live vicariously and celebrate your success!!!!! :duff

I just feel so behind. But good tip to only buy essential movies such as the trilogys. I will def have to prioritize my wants and needs on them.

Started reading LOTR Fellowship. I know books are differnt than movies but the chapter "in the house of Tom Bombadil" is confusing to me. Is it just a filler chapter or something of importance?

Based on this new information, I totally say go for it. The fact that she supports the geeky things that make you happy, and is willing to go to Godzilla with you even though it isn't her thing says something about her. I hope it works out! Good luck!

This is excellent advice! That was my plan, once upon a time. Unfortunately, I didn't listen to myself very well...

I like alternate heads. But they should have provided BOTH jackets, even if you have to pay extra to get the 2nd one.

Tom is a kind of Forest Guardian or elemental. He's very, very powerful but he doesn't involve himself in the dealings of men, Elves, Dwarves and such. It's not much different than the other times Bilbo tried to give the ring to Aragorn, Gandalf, Galadriel, etc, though his reason for not taking it isn't fear of being Souron's pawn but general indifference.

Awesome that clears alot up. Thanks! When Frodo just handed him the ring I was just like WTF!

I love the Tom Bombadil part in Fellowship of the Ring. It's definitely one of my favorite parts in that novel.
