re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Maybe she died in the bathroom... was kidnapped... or had explosive diarrhea all over her pants and had to leave for fear of being embarrassed. :dunno :lol You should've gone by her house after and said, "you owe me $X for the movie and snacks..."

Or, maybe the movie you were seeing was playing on multiple screens and she went in to the wrong one when coming back from the restroom, only to not find you in the seat you were in and to this day thinks that you ditched her and left. Ya never know.

Wow, talk about a reframe... well done :lecture

Oh and C2E2 is definitely on for me! Bought my plane tix to Chicago a few days ago! :rock

Man I'm gonna be on planes a total of 5 times round trip during April and May. Expensive!!!!

:yess: Can't wait!

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

It should be pretty awesome. Hopefully, I don't skip out and avoid all the freaks again.

:exactly: You need to at least hook up with us for dinner or something. Even if you like to hang by yourself at the con and do your own thing, we should still meet up.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I have absolutely nothing on display. My wife won't let it in the shared living spaces (living room, bed room, etc.) so it all sits boxed in my spare garage. We've always planned to build me an office but just haven't had the funds. It's been almost 10 years and I'm just exhausted from looking at boxes and buying then packing things away with "intentions".

Is your spare garage something you could set up shelves in and display in there? That might be an idea for the things you want to keep.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I think we should start an evil empire to combat the 3 Amigos....first meeting at C2E2. :lol

:monkey3

The Three Amigos stand for all that is fair and good in freakdom.

Why would you want to quash that? :monkey2

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Her favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption. I can get behind that. She's a true girly girl and I can understand that.

She actually said that she thinks it's awesome that Star Wars and my other favorite geeky things make me happy, but she just doesn't think she'll be into Star Wars and stuff. She wants to go to see Godzilla with me, so that's pretty cool. She really is a very sweet girl.

Based on this new information, I totally say go for it. The fact that she supports the geeky things that make you happy, and is willing to go to Godzilla with you even though it isn't her thing says something about her. I hope it works out! Good luck!

:goodpost: I agree with Kenben. The fact that she's never seen the stuff as well gives her no reason to really hate it all. Maybe she will watch them with you eventually and enjoy them, and get into the culture a bit. It also seems like you guys have been talking a bit, which is good. Don't count her out yet for sure. Go to Godzilla and see how things go.

I can dig it... 10 years with everything boxed up and nothing out would be pretty frustrating. And as you said it doesn't really make sense to build a room given how much it would cost... probably easier just to move and then you're really on a train to crazy town if you move so you can display your collectibles :lol

I have a decent sized room in our home for the collection, but I figure I may have to swap with my daughter if we stay in our current home past the time she's 10 or so. She's currently in a smaller bedroom and it would be silly to have a pre-teen/teenager in a dinky room just so I can have a bunch of stuff on display.

So we'll either move (which we'd like to be in a nicer house by then anyway) or I'll plan for a massive rearrange/downsize around that time.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Pretty much. Pretty much everyone assumed we'd get both jackets, instead SS is making us choose one or the other. :(

And the extra ****ty thing about this is the blue Jacket doesn't look as nice... it's super dark and very clean. Whereas the brown looks like it's actually been on Hoth for a bit. I'm still commited to blue, but not pleased with their decision to triple milk the release like this.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Sounds like that Seinfeld episode where they each end up in different theaters. :lol

Wow, talk about a reframe... well done :lecture

punk is a slick mofo --- he had me thinking he was a chic, and another chic @ giordano's thinking he was a stud photographer. :lol

:lol Ya never know. It could be something like that and to this day she talks about her bad online dating experience about the guy that took her to the movies and then bolted the second she went to the bathroom.

Ah, messin' with people I meet for the first time is great. Mmm, Giordano's!

Sounds familiar. Wives can be so mean sometimes.

At least I'm able to start working on my room soon, so I'll finally get stuff displayed properly.

Their releases on Han are a big WTF.

Blue is the way to go as far as our orders are concerned, but grabbing a brown coat on TA will become very, very important for us.

We should talk when the time comes for the part out so we can both be on the lookout. I hate having my options limited on something this important in my collection.

Did your Vader charge/ship? Mine should arrive tomorrow, but I forgot to waive the sign upon receipt thing, so I'm now praying that my wife is home when it comes.

Man, I've tried to get my wife into Thor and she just won't give it a shot... I'll say the Thor films are my favorite Marvel movies so far. I love the Avengers and Iron Man 1 too, of course.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

So we may lose the board for the next few hours to days ! :panic:

What will we do guys ?
