I love the Tom Bombadil part in Fellowship of the Ring. It's definitely one of my favorite parts in that novel.

Beorn is a favorite part of the Hobbit for me. I was kinda disappointed by him in DOS.

Let's see, Rick, Bam, fury, Chien, Gibby, JJJ, Jay, Scott, Waller and Kyle are the ones I know from the pic. Am I missing anyone I should recognize?

There are four people, besides the Star Wars artist whose name escapes me, in that photo that I don't have any contact with on the regular. Two I don't even know their board names, if they even are boardies. Sometimes freaks bring friends. It's really fun to do these events and meet all the various people with that one major thing in common.

Some of the very best highlights of my life. I've got a sense that CA2015 is going to be a frenetic freak love fest. One not to be missed.

Started reading LOTR Fellowship. I know books are differnt than movies but the chapter "in the house of Tom Bombadil" is confusing to me. Is it just a filler chapter or something of importance?

Very much importance. Probably wouldn't have translated well onto the screen however...

Based on this new information, I totally say go for it. The fact that she supports the geeky things that make you happy, and is willing to go to Godzilla with you even though it isn't her thing says something about her. I hope it works out! Good luck!

I always liked Tinker Toys when I was a kid. Building something is what's fun, especially in a relationship.
Find someone with similar beliefs/morals, and the rest is gravy....it may be clumpy gravy or runny gravy at times, but it's still gravy.

This is excellent advice! That was my plan, once upon a time. Unfortunately, I didn't listen to myself very well...

If movies are your passion, I say upgrade. Nothing beats a good bluray transfer. Check bluray.com, though, for reviews.
Some transfers are down right horrible.

Movies are not mine anymore, though, so I agree with Scott. I wouldn't even buy SW on bluray if given the choice.

We stick to Redbox now and haven't looked back.

I also shy away from online dating sites, because of a bad experience I had when it first started. I only tried it once. I was thin, and had a full head of hair back then. I picked the girl up at her house. She was standing outside, talking on the phone. She gave me the "one second" finger, went in her house, grabbed her jacket, and we were off. We were doing "dinner and a movie", which I no longer like to do after this experience. We get to the theater, and I pay for both of us. I buy us snacks. We get our seats. She says she's going to run to the bathroom and will be right back. SHE NEVER RETURNED! She must have given a signal to her friend on the phone to pick her up at the theater. Instead of coming up with an excuse to cancel the date, she leads me on, I pay for both tickets and lots of food, only to get the shaft. That was my last online dating experience. Perhaps it has improved in the last 10 years, but I'll never forget that one terrible experience.

Maybe she died in the bathroom... was kidnapped... or had explosive diarrhea all over her pants and had to leave for fear of being embarrassed. You should've gone by her house after and said, "you owe me $X for the movie and snacks..."

Or, maybe the movie you were seeing was playing on multiple screens and she went in to the wrong one when coming back from the restroom, only to not find you in the seat you were in and to this day thinks that you ditched her and left. Ya never know.
