Godzilla vs King Ghidorah/Godzilla vs Mothra was a nice double feature.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Of the Godzilla movies that recently hit Bluray, what's the best? I want to watch a G movie when I get home!

I have a soft spot for Godzilla vs. Gigan. It's very silly, the English dub especially so. However, it's pretty funny and Gigan is one of Godzilla's most badass villains. He's a cyborg space bird/lizard with hooks for hands and a buzz saw in his stomach. Doesn't get much better than that.

Haha, that's so funny... you guys were talking about band names and I was just going to post two that I thought would be cool... one being Knowledge Bomb.

BOOM!

Yes, and yes. :lol
Jerks

Gigan is cool, but you can't beat King Ghidorah. :lecture

Godzilla vs. Gigan has King Ghidorah too. It has it all.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I like the Heisei Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, but I think it's better to watch those movies in sequence starting with 84 on to Biollante and then Ghidorah. Also, the weird Terminator robot guy was a little too much for even me. His run is hilarious.

Speaking of King Ghidorah, I got this purple one from a Godzilla collector a few weeks ago. It 'a not an easy figure to get your hands on, but I like him a lot.

So it is written, so shall it be done.

I highly recommend Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: All Out Monsters Attack from this set. It's probably my favorite modern Godzilla movie. It 's got a bit of a mystical Japanese spin to it, but the Godzilla in it is super evil and menacing. He kicks ass. Coming out on September 9th.

Sounds like the name of a Hardcore band.

It's a Japanese company called Gigabrain. King Ghidorah is normally gold, but they do them in limited runs of various colors. So far they've done gold, orange, metallic blue, black, and purple variants of this sculpt.

Do they still make these type of Godzilla movies? Have they ever made a CGI Godzilla movie (not American versions), or has it always been the man in a suit style?

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Ben I thought of you when they showed off some of the stuff they want to do with Godzilla two. I was excited because I did enjoy the first one but thought of hardcore guys like you that would really love seeing classic baddies come back to the big screen.

The Japanese Godzilla movies have always used practical man in suit effects up through the last Japanese a Godzilla movie in 2004. Some of the later movies did incorporate some cgi, but it was fairly limited. I have heard that Toho plans on making a new Japanese Godzilla movie due to the success of the new American one. I would expect them to use suits in that as well if it gets made.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Suits are the only way to go for Japanese Godzilla movies. Even their limited use of CG took me out of the movies.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

And why do I have such a hard time believing that girls like this exist...

Why because she's cute?

When she said her live webchats I was like what, then looked her up and was disappointed.:lol

That's interesting. I wonder why that is, is there a particular reason why they have stuck with the B-movie type effects?
