re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Any vintage left after everyone put their hands in the hunnipot?
JJJ is getting 3 figures. That's it. I haven't sold any yet. I know you have other financial obligations at the moment. Although I probably should send you those Muscle Men before I lose them! :lol

I may stick some of my higher value figures on Ebay soon. I do need to start recouping some of the $500 I spent when I bought the collection. My laziness has prevailed thus far...

Good point! He also could have fingered her while she was fisting a Muppet, and vice versa...
Wait, I don't mean she was fisting him. But a Muppet may have... :dunno

GB and Slynger, your packages are ready to go. Slynger, don't forget to send payment. JJJ, I sent you your invoice... My work is almost done...

Won't forget, I even set myself a reminder on my phone. Should be a couple hours from now. Thanks again.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Just got back from Guardians and Planet of the Apes.

Hot damn, GotG is a fun fawkin movie! Laughed throughout, great action, well written characters and a great soundtrack too :rock. It's right there with Iron Man as my favorite Marvel Studios movies. Much much better than I expected, even after all the hype. I see this one really holding up for me. Can't wait to see it again! I think I liked it more than the lego movie, but maybe not, they are both fantastic! My two favorite movies of the year.

And Planet of the Apes was pretty awesome too. Crazy what CGI is capable of now. You forget that you are not watching real apes on screen. Excellent sequel!

I'm usually not one for remakes, but I loved Total Recall.

I really enjoyed it. I also liked the new Robocop. I don't get hung up on comparing these remakes to the originals, I just see them to see whats they have to offer.

Legend is clearly an 80's fantasy film. It reminded me of Willow, Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and Time Bandits all rolled into one. The 80's was a GREAT decade for fantasy flicks. Besides the ones I just named there's Dragonslayer, Baron Munchausen, Ladyhawke, Neverending Story, Princess Bride, and much much more.
Although Jim Henson Productions had nothing to do with Legend, it reminded me of his creature shop, even though there were little people and not puppets. You can't compare the 80's fantasy movies to the special effects-filled movies of today like LOTR. For its time, the effects were awesome! I enjoyed it a lot. I'm now going to watch the theatrical cut, because I feel like comparing them...
I just read that Mia Sara was only 15 when they shot this. It took 3 years to come out due to many production issues... I can tell she looked much older in Ferris Buehler...
Just started the theatrical cut. The opening crawl just annoyed the HELL out of me. They cut part of the awesome opening scene from the DC! That shouldn't have happened... I also learned that Gump was a German kid. They dubbed his voice in the US. I thought he was a good actor, making his voice sound older. NOPE! It wasnt him... This is kinda funny though:
The voice of Gump (David Bennent) was re-dubbed by Alice Playten (Blix). For the German version, the voice of Blix (Alice Playten) was dubbed by David Bennent (Gump), who also voiced himself.
Is that revenge? Dubbing over the person who had dubbed you over in the US?

I enjoyed the theatrical version as well, but I agree the DC was better. I noticed the soundtrack differences the most in the beginning, and very much so at the end. I didn't notice in the middle as much. Tangerine Dream was definitely pretty bad. What was the studio thinking? I definitely like the movie. For its time, it's a very well done fantasy movie. I probably won't watch it again for several years, but that's mainly due to my 3000+ unwatched titles. At least I was able to knock this one off the list...

At first I was like, "this soundtrack is fine, whats the problem?" But it's quickly starting to annoy me. I understand now...
It sounds like a Neverending Story ripoff, but it doesnt fit Legend...

Glad you liked it. Maybe being a kid of the 80s gave you a good perspective to see the movie from. So many people that I know who have seen it the first time as an adult didn't like it. There is a lot there to enjoy. I can fully understand people not liking Highlander, but only a heartless wretch could not like Legend :lecture

That's cool that you watched the theatrical cut too, but I am surprised you enjoy it, but I used to enjoy the theatrical edition too. Watching them back to back totally changed my opinion of the theatrical cut.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I am watching Legend for the first time tomight as well. Watching the Director's Cut. About 40 minutes in and like it so far. Angie has seen the theatrical cut a bunch before and says this one is a lot different as well. I think we will watch the theatrical cut soon too to compare. Back to the movie!

We're guessing how long it's gonna take you to get caught up in this thread... The guessing game is long over. We're just chillin, talkin about Legend, and the usual mumbo jumbo... How's life? Anything exciting with you?

NOBODY can be you, Chien. You're one of a kind! :lecture
I liked LEGO more than GOTG. I didn't expect to like LEGO as much as I did, but I loved it. However, Cap TWS and X-Men DOFP are still the top 2 for me this year. LEGO probably 3rd. Not sure where I'll rank Muppets Most Wanted. I am somewhat biased there, of course. Tough call...

GotG is probably my favorite movie of the year. Now that I have LEGO 3D, I need to watch it again, but I already know it won't top GotG. Sorry, LEGO fools. :lol

I'll have to add Robocop to my Netflix queue. I'm not afraid to see it anymore.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I'm remember liking Legend when I was a kid, especially Darkness. However when the DVD was released I tried to watch it and ended up hating it. I might have to give it another watch myself.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

All this Legend talk, carried over from last weekend, makes my **** hard like a rock :rock
