re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I'm so confused by all these Godzilla releases on Amazon. I have to order something for my wife so I figure I should throw a couple movies in there. Do I just go with the current double features?

Two movies for the price of one! :yess:

They can't really get you on that can they?... how could he prove you were texting? Maybe you were dialing a phone #?... or just checking the time on your phone...

My sister in law got hit with the same thing a few weeks ago. She was looking at her phone at a red light. New Jersey is really cracking down.

At first I was like, "this soundtrack is fine, whats the problem?" But it's quickly starting to annoy me. I understand now...
It sounds like a Neverending Story ripoff, but it doesnt fit Legend...

I like the classics better. Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. Hedorah , and Godzilla vs. Ebirah. They're all single releases, though. The modern two packs are decent, but keep in mind that they aren't all packaged in proper order. I would consult Wikipedia on that.

Wrong thread and all. Blah blah blah. Let me know if anyone is interested in any of these figures.

I enjoyed the theatrical version as well, but I agree the DC was better. I noticed the soundtrack differences the most in the beginning, and very much so at the end. I didn't notice in the middle as much. Tangerine Dream was definitely pretty bad. What was the studio thinking? I definitely like the movie. For its time, it's a very well done fantasy movie. I probably won't watch it again for several years, but that's mainly due to my 3000+ unwatched titles. At least I was able to knock this one off the list...

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Sooo, what movie should I watch next? Has to be something I haven't seen before, and something that I own (which is pretty much everything)...
I would also consider watching something I haven't seen in 20+ years. I have a bunch of those, too...

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I have decided. Another romcom. Well, not heavy on the rom, but I'm sure it still qualifies. Another one of my favorites:
That Thing You Do!
I never saw the Extended Cut, and haven't seen the film in years, so I'm popping it in... Liv Tyler was totally adorable back then. And Charlize Theron wasn't a star yet. Heck, none of them were, except for Tom Hanks of course. Steve Zahn and Ethan Embry were still nobodies. Tom Everett Scott was probably the next biggest name, and what did he amount to? Not much...
Speaking of Steve Zahn, Saving Silverman is another awesome romcom (also not heavy on the rom, but very heavy on the com). Maybe those two don't really qualify... But awesome friggin movies!

That sucks. Yesterday I saw a girl texting while going about 70 mph down the highway... steering with her knees, both hands holding the phone texting... she was doing this for over 5 minutes... looking up every 5 seconds or so...

Unfortunately I am seeing this more and more. Some of these kids shouldn't even be driving at all. The younger generation doesn't understand that texts can be replied to later.

They can't really get you on that can they?... how could he prove you were texting? Maybe you were dialing a phone #?... or just checking the time on your phone...

If the statute is written as "being distracted" he doesn't have to prove it was texting and/or phone call. Just proving that you were distracted by a personal electronic device is all that needs to be proved. Not saying I agree one way or the other, but it's all dependent on how the code is written.

I believe the cop has to show up to the court date as well... if he doesn't show (which a lot of times they don't) it should get tossed out and you won't owe anything.

Often times this is the case.

Legend is clearly an 80's fantasy film. It reminded me of Willow, Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and Time Bandits all rolled into one. The 80's was a GREAT decade for fantasy flicks. Besides the ones I just named there's Dragonslayer, Baron Munchausen, Ladyhawke, Neverending Story, Princess Bride, and much much more.
Although Jim Henson Productions had nothing to do with Legend, it reminded me of his creature shop, even though there were little people and not puppets. You can't compare the 80's fantasy movies to the special effects-filled movies of today like LOTR. For its time, the effects were awesome! I enjoyed it a lot. I'm now going to watch the theatrical cut, because I feel like comparing them...
I just read that Mia Sara was only 15 when they shot this. It took 3 years to come out due to many production issues... I can tell she looked much older in Ferris Buehler...
Just started the theatrical cut. The opening crawl just annoyed the HELL out of me. They cut part of the awesome opening scene from the DC! That shouldn't have happened... I also learned that Gump was a German kid. They dubbed his voice in the US. I thought he was a good actor, making his voice sound older. NOPE! It wasnt him... This is kinda funny though:
The voice of Gump (David Bennent) was re-dubbed by Alice Playten (Blix). For the German version, the voice of Blix (Alice Playten) was dubbed by David Bennent (Gump), who also voiced himself.
Is that revenge? Dubbing over the person who had dubbed you over in the US?

80s was an epic time for these type of movies. Willow was great, Labryinth and Dark Crystal are legendary and the Princess Bride will forever be quotable in my book.

I read that sentence over and over, seeing the word STATUE every time, and I was confused. It took my 5th time to see what you truly wrote...

And yes, the 80's was an epic time for movies for sure! I'm so glad I grew up in that era...

Being a collector/statue forum, it's a justifiable oversight. :lol

You couldn't handle my chap. :horror :rotfl

Think I'm going to order the beer kit tonight.

So I've added Gojira to my cart. But I'm looking up Vs. Gigan and the only blu that I can find is this https://www.amazon.com/Godzilla-Vs-Gigan-Blu-ray/dp/B00I462XLG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407707464&sr=8-1&keywords=gigan+blu . I see people complaining that it's missing the "word balloons" from the original release. IS there a better version?

I would like to watch them in order, provided what's available. Looking at the wiki I"m amazed Vs. King Kong was so early in the series! I figured that was a late-game hail Mary.
