I like you Ben. Always have. Always will.

Right back at you, Devil. If I ever get published, I'll bring you a copy personally.

It could be more lucrative money wise but there is something pretty special about helping young people learn. Even if its just for a second seeing that light come on when it all come together is worth it. So teaching is pretty lucrative spiritually.

I want to experience both in my life if possible. Teaching has always been the practical path that I wanted to pursue, but I dream of having my fiction published as well. I think it's always nice to have greater aspirations to reach for no matter what you're doing.

How old are we talking? I'm finishing up my second degree, and even though its only an AAS, compared to my previous BFA, I'm feeling far more proud of this new degree. Oh, and I'm almost 40!

I'm 27. Not super old, but perspectives change when you're away from college life for awhile.

You can do both. Professor Tolkien taught and wrote several fantastic stories as we all know. So I think writing is a great way thing and a great way to keep your mind fresh.

It's funny you should mention that. It's like we're having a mind meld or something. I've been told by many friends and teachers that I have a knack for writing. I'm actually minoring in fiction writing as I've always wanted to be a writer. I'm pursuing the teaching career, but I'll also be working on my writing at the same time.

Shoot for it, Ben!! Don't let your dreams slip away! Life starts to go by so quickly as we get older and you're still quite young and without the additional weight of a significant other or children. Do it!

Thanks for the support, Rich. I'll give it the old college try. :yess:

Weird thing happened today. Target has that Mr Freeze/Batboat set on sale for 16 bucks, so I go buy one. I get home and open it and none of the minifig parts are there! The box was sealed, as were the bags, so I figure there must have been one bag with the minifigs that was omitted. I do an exchange and open the new box at the return desk to avoid a third trip and the minifigs are there this time. Weird thing is all the figure parts are spread around throughout all three bags from the set. I've never even bought a set that was missing A part, much less some of the most important ones.

Strange things come in threes.

Are you sure it wasn't a re-seal? Those mofos do wonders on swapping out carded figures.

I have similar goals I guess. I do my day job to pay the bills and support our habits but on the side I pursue my real dreams.

Hahahaha. This thread rules.

Ben, go for it man. You will never find out unless you try.

Do or do not, oh **** it you know the rest. Good luck young buck!

Thanks for the support, fellas. I know there's a small chance that I'll ever be published, but I'm still going for it.

Good luck to you, man. What's your dream?

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Looking at the bags in the second complete set I think the first may well have been re-sealed. Why anyone would go through the trouble is beyond me.

It always makes me mad when I see figures on the shelf that have been replaced with old versions. People like us will probably be able to notice that something isn't right, but a mom picking up something for her kid probably won't. Pretty scummy behavior, if you ask me.

I'm glad you got your set with everything intact. It's a small set, but the Aquaman and Mr. Freeze minifigs are pretty cool.

Glad you got the right stuff in your other set. Those LEGO re-sealers are scum!:mad:
