Im pretty sure you just have to be connected to online to play but there is a gamemode to play Computer enemies "AI" "Bots" or whatever it is you prefer to call them. Just no story missions. You pretty much just pick a map say "Hoth" pick AI enemies and the battle will start you vs an AI army.

Yes Titanfall, Destiny, and Elder Scrolls are all recent games with online only. Developers feel they can focus more on what makes them money and make it great which is multiplayer. Though titanfall proved thats not the case lol. I have high hopes for Battlefront though.
