re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I think I've mentioned this to you guys before, but one of my roles at the University is providing trainings to faculty and staff on how to be an ally to the LGTB community... when I started the presentations there were only 5 states that recognized same-sex marriages and it seemed unlikely that any significant changes would happen any time soon.

So for me it's amazing to see how in 7 years the landscape of marriage for same-sex couples can be totally changed. There is still a lot to do in this country and world before all people are recognized and treated as equals, and I don't believe I will see that in my lifetime, but I'm happy that today something positive happened.

:1-1: I loves you!

It's official - I just stepped into the Xbox One world. Gets delivered on Tuesday w/ Arkham Knight. Other than the inevitable preorder for SW Battlefront, any game suggestions from the cantina locals?

Guacamelee. I have it on PS4, but they have it on X-Box as well.

Don't know how I missed this post but very well said. No one should be told who they can and can't love. Marriage is nothing more than a right granting contract and the fact that it took so long for the government to see that is nuts.

More than anything I think this is a big step for government and a hopeful look forward on updated and expanded thinking. Sadly, I still don't think that we'll ever be a unified nation of people where everyone is accepted. There are just as many closed minded people holding back as there are people pushing through. Maybe in our great great grandkids lifetime...

I didn't realize Arkham Knight was only for next gen until yesterday. So I think it will be PS4 for me, and sooner than later. If there are going to be Battlefront parties, I want in.

Also, are we doing Christmas in July?

Right back achta... and now that love can be legally recognized :rock

Oh, and a slight correction... I was wrong, only 2 states recognized same sex marriage when I started my job in 2008 :lol 5 states wasn't until 2010.

New Hoult goodness for the weekend, including a little taste for those of you with a different predilection… :D

Star Wars has gotten me through everything.

Star Wars will get me through anything.

Interesting that I read this as I lay awake unable to sleep by the thoughts that I depend on way too many things to get me through everything. I'm beginning to think my life is full of too many distractions.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Hope I'm not a distraction, but just a friend.

You are indeed a friend and always will be.

I meant more like things, collectible, technology, etc...

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Glad you didn't say Star Wars. :D

Yeah, too much crap. I'm constantly trying to downsize, to nearly no avail. :lol

Movies could never distract me because I don't really have the time to even watch them anymore. It's all the things I collect to hold on to the nostalgia of those films that distracts me. Ehh, maybe I'm just too over tired... :lol

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

In Zen practice we learn...

When hungry, eat.
When tired, sleep.
Do just one thing at a time.

Yeah, I'm a pretty terrible student. But I try... :lol

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

And don't anybody go quoting Yoda!

Try is a huge part of Zen. So I'm conflicted. M'kay?

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Way better clip tonight Ben! :yess:

Transformers fans would probably enjoy the one from yesterday. The whole thing was a homage to Transformers and Voltron with a little Godzilla/Ultraman thrown in there as well.
