Funko.

They got themselves into some **** at SDCC. Apparently during their "Funko Funday" Event they tossed out protos and other pops into the crowds (some of these prototypes sell for $500+ on the Pops boards) and a girl got knocked over and stepped on and a boy was pushed off of a chair and had his ankle broken. I heard that the girl was fine other than some bumps and bruises and ended up with a boatload of Pops but the boy was in a wheelchair after and what came of that is still unknown.

I can't believe this is even a thing now. This figure has been done for decades and all of a sudden an issue? I wonder if this is a side effect of the Disney deal and now these figures being more "widespread" in terms of distribution? Or parents simply being ignorant? I mean how can you NOT know this iconic look?

Interesting. I bet Disney wanted money from those photos. Or Lucasfilm.

What happened?

They announced this last week.

In July 2015, Official Pix elected not to renew its STAR WARS license. This means other than current inventory, Official Pix will no longer be able to sell licensed STAR WARS photos and STAR WARS autographed photos. If you have an unfilled order, it will be completed.

Official Pix still has other properties, and will continue to have great relationships with STAR WARS actors, but until another company acquires the license, if any, there won't be any new licensed photographs or autographs.

We'd like to sincerely THANK our many STAR WARS customers who have been with us since 2001.

I would say they wanted more money and I don't get the impression they were very pleased with them at Celebration. I didn't hear anything good about that experience.
