That B&W cover was a cluster**** apparently. Sold out after 30 minutes with a ton of errors and site time outs and is flipping on eBay for near $70 already.

Their inconsistencies are becoming more and more common and messing with their credibility.

AFA for a while was good and bad it drove price up but you knew it was legit. But now there are fake AFA labels being made and also fake cards being passed by AFA as legit.

Always check the database if your buy an AFA carded figure to make sure they match but even that's not a guarantee it's legit. So far all the faked AFA labels didn't match the database.

What are people's thoughts on AFA'd figures?

The cases are great and figures look really nice in them, that's about the only positive. Some of their displays of loose items are amazing but there are so many companies making custom acrylic cases now so anything is possible outside of AFA.

The whole grading process and their business practices are ********. They rush stuff out the door and have passed fakes numerous times. Also there have been rumors of upping grades for certain customers. If you want some good reading, check out the AFA section and vintage section on the Rebelscum boards.

Damn. I wanted to get a few of the vintage figures in AFA to make sure they're legit and that they're in good condition but I didn't know of the issues surrounding them. Huh...food for thought.

You don't need to go AFA to know it's real. Just do trusted sellers and don't do ebay so much.
