re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I only have a two day work week and then I'm off the rest of the week starting Wednesday through Monday for my birthday. Unforunately, I've been sad about stuff lately and I don't see that changing soon.

Happy Birthday! 30? Don't fret.

Who the **** gets three days off for a birthday? :dunno

I had plans, man! Was gonna go to take my mom to the zoo and get all the mold-a-ramas I could carry, hang out with Tony and do Force Friday. Now I'm just gonna mope.

Plus, I have to use my vacation in September because we can't take time off in October, November, or December.

I vote you do fun stuff as originally intended man!

Fly out here and have dinner with punk and myself, then you and I could hit a strip club!

I know that prude punk won't...

I'm a prude too. I'd feel uncomfortable in a strip club.

**** the man! Quit that ****!

I'm plotting an escape.

Dude, I've been having a really rough time lately too but I've learned that you can't just sit around and mope. Surround yourself with family and friends and do things that make you happy. It's the only way out.
Have you ever gone to a therapist?

No, I've never seen a therapist. Don't think I ever will. The things that bother make me feel that way because of who I am, and I don't think anyone could convince me to stop thinking the way I do.

My roommate's been having a hard time lately. I think I'm gonna just shoot him and dump his carcass in the lake.

A good therapist isn't there to convince you of anything. They're a tool to perhaps help you find solutions, workarounds, to find perspective and understanding you may not have seen before. It's not about changing who you are or even the way you think, necessarily.

I guess what I'm saying is, I'm a proponent of anything that breaks the context of our daily lives and helps us create space and time for objectivity and reflection.

I've worked with the public a great deal in various capacities, and if I've learned one thing in four decades of life it's that the world would be better off if *everyone* used a therapist the same way people take care of their nutrition or go to the gym. It's just maintenance.

ZE hit the nail on the head, exactly.

Ben, you need me to pull the last vestige of innocence from your soul, throw it to the ground and stomp it to bits.... Chase will help too.
