I'm fresh off of a warranty call yesterday of some lady wanting something covered that wasn't and giving sob stories of why we should cover it for her. So I'm a bit biased. :lol
Long story short, she bought the unit used years ago (warranties don't transfer so at that point she had no warranty) But due to a serial # error the last 5 or so things she sent in were covered under warranty and we replaced them. So she got 5 free things on an error. We noticed that the serial # was wrong and that there was no warranty on that machine. So when she sent in another item for warranty, it wasn't covered. She flipped out. Even though she had received 5 or more things covered that never should have been to begin with, she was mad at us that we wouldn't cover this one last thing for her.
 
I'm going to have to agree with Punk on this one... I certainly feel bad for Ben's situation and anyone that isn't able to inspect a piece before the 30 day window expires (out of town, busy... not ready to display) But it is a clearly stated policy and in this case I think Sideshow is being quite fair to offer a full refund (less the shipping) on the item.

The fact that they would exercise some flexibility is good. Now it'd be great if they split the shipping and provided Ben with a label, and excellent if they did that and refunded the original shipping. But as it is they could have just as easily said no, which is what most companies would do.

Case in point, I recently bought a bike rack for my car, I opened it and inspected it and everything was fine. But I didn't actually test it out until like 40 days later and turns out it was a crap design and totally unsafe to use. But did I get any money back, nope... I ate it, such is life :lol

I have a few NRDs tied up, so a reverse charge and cancellation probably wouldn't be a very good option. I'd feel like a chump if I take the $35, but it could cost me $50 or more to ship the thing back to them. Guess I'll sleep on it.

Can you only use UPS or a higher cost shipping? I recently shipped a large piece using USPS and it was like $30 fully insured with tracking.

Looks like I have to prep the house for a hurricane. Yippee!!!

Hopefully the Hurricane doesn't MadCow you :lecture
 
I think they will refund his full price including the original shipping $ he paid. I think he just has to cover shipping to them.
 
Too many words. I feel like King right now, and have decided to just not read these posts.

Nothing would change my opinion about the change I've seen in Sideshow, so I'll just keep my opinion that they suck. ;)

Bummer the FO Stormtrooper armor is kind of meh looking compared to the designs for the Snowtrooper and Pilot. I just don't like how squat they look :huh

Yeah, we are definitely getting flooded with TFA armored characters. I'm not committed to buying anything yet, but I'm open to the idea if the movie delivers and happy to see that HT is committing some serious resources to the license.
 
I have only ordered one SW7 figure, the TIE Pilot. The other figures look great but I gotta see the movie first to commit to NRDs. And I don't think Iron Man is a fair comparison. Not yet.
 
hey guys need some Ebay advice.
I sold a Kotobukiya IM statue for $75. He was perfect leaving my house. so it arrived at its destination on the 24th and today he said the base broken and wants a 25% discount instead of returning it. What are my options here? I don't mind doing the discount if it really is broken.

demand pictures. Very detailed pictures. Including all of the packaging. Did you have insurance?
 
If it is damaged, how do I send the 25% back to him making it a legit deal? I don't want to send him money then he files a complaint with ebay demanding a full refund or something.
If it's sent via PayPal and you have all the communication via eBay you should be covered. I would make sure to file an insurance claim too to get your money back.

Through Paypal. Log onto your Paypal account and click on the transaction details. Scroll down a little bit and right under Total amount and fee amount, it should say Issue a refund in blue letters. Click that and you should be able to type in the amount you have agreed upon.

Awesome thanks. I logged onto Paypal and found the refund tab. I messaged him for photo proof and waiting for his reply now.
