I didn't watch the video yet, but I can state that Hasbro set the 5000 number as a minimum they felt they could produce and still make enough profit to make the process worth their time and expenses. Anything over that number is gravy. They are going to hit 9000, or come damn close, before the clock stops. Those extra 4000 orders are HUGE profit for Hasbro. They are laughing all the way to the bank. On the bright side, Hasbrolab will surely make something else we're dying to have, and will keep doing so, as long as suckers keep buying.

I still haven't backed the barge, and I admit that I'm on the fence. I have probably every vehicle they have ever produced thus far from Eps 1-6 (not every release of every vehicle, but I do think I have at least one version of every vehicle) so I almost feel I need this just for my collection to be complete. But I don't really have the space for this, especially displayed. I really shouldn't buy it. But I really want the carded POTF Yakface figure, and even the book. I'm extremely conflicted... Oh, and I learned I have to pay money for my Federal taxes this year, and my state refund won't cover it. So I really shouldn't buy this... But I might.

He basically says he doesn't like the business model of big toy producers like Hasbro and Mattel doing crowd funding campaigns to make toys. He mentions how a lot of collectors got burned by Mattel with MOTU and Thundercats and that a retail manufacturer should be confident in the product they want to produce to perform well in the retail market. He also goes into a few points about how Hasbro has made a lot of crappy toys lately that nobody buys and this seems to be a quick cash grab since their Last Jedi toys did so poorly and that crappy toys might be one of the reasons that kids have lost interest in action figures. He also mentions how he disagrees with certain Star Wars fan sites encouraging collectors to finance their purchase of the Sail Barge and says it's a scummy thing to encourage people to do that.

Does Finn bother anyone?

That'd be a good way to do it. If this were cheaper and smaller, it would've been cool to have one without whatever paint and weathering they are going to do so it would match the vintage ships and vehicles.

I've got a handful of the modern figures that'd go with the Skiff/Barge scene. I'll have to go through my stuff and find them. Maybe I'll do that tonight.
