Ummm, you apparently haven't read the articles. There have been cases where people INTENTIONALLY sent a re-carded vintage figure to AFA to see if they would catch it, and they did NOT. It got a high rating, and shouldn't have. AFA isn't perfect. They can screw up, badly.

I've been looking for one off and on for about twenty years. I'm not trying to upstage you MC. I can just remember seeing one for the first time at a mall comic convention back in VA when I was a wee lad, and I've wanted one ever since. They are unfortunately, too expensive for me in the condition I would want. Never stops me from looking at every convention still...

I highly doubt Brian's Toys had the skills to re-card a figure. But there are bastards out there with that expertise. I wouldn't think the odds of AFA missing it is very likely, but it has happened...

If you've never met Billy Dee, I'd say this weekend for sure:

Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian)
Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca)
Tom Kane (Voice of Yoda in Star Wars Clone Wars)

I'm also swayed cuz Yoda will be there. I kinda wish I could go that weekend. Otherwise, these two are kinda neat cuz of Jim Cummings and Sam Witwer. Warwick Davis is always a pleasure to talk to.
