Force Friday Hot Toys predictions

Well, going by Black series, for TLJ they only have the Elite Praetorian Guard, Captain Poe (not in flight suit) and Finn (in FO disguise). The rest are TFA or OT stuff.

Sphero not only have the FO BB droid but also an App controlled R2 (speculation on scale and quality begin)

Surprised not to see HT at least do a Praetorian... even Anovos have the helmet up for their reveal (along with the Executioner Trooper).

I still think there's more to come. However, if this Force Friday is a bust for HT, it's just further evidence that HT just doesn't give a crap about anniversaries, Force Fridays, blu ray releases, etc, that many newbs here still believe they do.

But Hot Toys usually does things for Star Wars on May the 4th and Force Friday. They don't seem to care about film anniversaries or things like that but it would be odd if the Executioner Trooper is their only reveal. Well I guess they put up some new Cosbabies but those aren't what most people think of when they think Hot Toys.

SHFigarts and Black Series have all 3 versions of the guards I think. I was hoping a two pack from hot toys with an extra headsculpt. I guess that was pushing it...

I agree, that was the first part of most post you didn't quote, the licensor will force them to be ready with material. I still think more is to come.

Maybe the situation was that hot toys wanted to show this trooper, Anakin and Tarkin for force friday and Disney insisted on Last Jedi stuff only today so Hot Toys did their other reveals ahead of schedule and have nothing else ready to show yet. If I'm remembering correctly, they didn't show Rey and Finn till the movie was almost in theatres. Maybe that's it for now unfortunately as they probably learned their lesson about going too trooper heavy.

Just disappointing whichever way you look at it..........and the one release was just a minor paint job and a helmet resculpt. Not even something good.

Received an email from Sideshow today offering free global shipping on certain figures. All the First Order troops, Kylo etc. No wonder Hot Toys are holding back when the figures from the previous film are still hanging around.

Yeah they've tried every marketing scheme possible. Buy 2 get 3. Free domestic shipping. Now free international shipping. What next ??

Maybe it's like a giant middle finger to Disney !! But I guess HT "sold" all their figures to distributors so they don't really have a problem.....who knows ?

I could imagine they probably make more money from CosBabies when it's all said and done. Hence the priority on days like today for the mass market. Us 1/6 collectors are used to waiting.....and waiting.

Yeah, I still want a TIE Pilot and snowtrooper officer, but they are going to have to do better than 15% off because (even with the free shipping) I can get them cheaper in the after market. I might bite at 30% off with free shipping.

Wow, there's really no other reveals huh? This year is the odd one out and didn't go like the last two years of four reveals. I'm disappointed, as I was looking forward to seeing more, like Kylo.

I'm very surprised. HT ****ed up this year. I bet Lucasfilm let Hasbro **** out their turds for the masses and held HT back from showing theirs with actual actor likenesses.

If you apply for the contests on SS today they are emailing $25.00 codes that can be applied to Kylo. Plus they are offering Free world wide shipping today. Basically saving $50 bucks today.

I got my Kylo cheap. I reckon TFA Kylo design looks the best with layered outfit and hood. Far better than what I've seen in TLJ with just one dress thing and the mask. I'm also not fussed about an Adam Driver mug-sculpt. Classic looking figure imo !!

But I guess if you really want the head sculpt hold out for TLJ version.
