I hate when people are holding my money and I never hear from them again.

Chris

while i completley understand where you're coming from...i'm not worried. I'm actually fine waiting it out as long as the finished product is jaw-dropping.

I emailed him 2 weeks ago, still no response. I kept it short just so he wouldn't have to respond with alot of information. Pretty much all he had to respond with is "yes" or "no". But....still no response.

I'm sure all the people that have sent him money, also have emails. All he has to do is create a draft with an update....then send to all.

Dude I so f*#^ing agree !!!
Awhile back there's a lady that actually answers calls and stuff and now where is she at ?

This is frustrating. Sometimes customer service is just as important to making great products.

I'm not sure how many custom projects you have had, but I have to say a large % of artists are like this with communication. It sucks, but it's the risk you take when you dive into the custom realm. I doubt this guy is going to screw everyone over, but I once made the mistake of sending the whole payment at once and I will never do it again; so when I read about so many ppl paying it all at once, I go :slap.

When dealing with custom artists, it's always best to pay half up front and the rest when you see the finished product, unless you have worked with them before. The artist will be less willing to make any changes if they already have the full payment and your not satisfied. I hope you guys payed with a CC too, if you didn't and for whatever reason, you don't get what you payed for, your screwed. All this non communication stuff is the reason why I like to stick to only a few artists that I trust and there are very few.

This piece is not a custom piece at all. It's a limited of 250 pcs full size bust that he offered. And those who do an early pre-order gets a 100 bucks discount.

I have communicate with custom artist before and the communications are great.

it may not technically be a custom piece, but it's pretty obvious he runs his ship like this is one. Being limited doesn't mean anything. It's not like this is a legit company where you can call CS and voice your complaints or go to their web-site and write them an email, or can you? :dunno.

I'm curious, is there a refund or return policy? Will he send out a replacement if it comes damaged? Have any of you guys even asked questions like this to Fred or did you just see a proto pic, then willy nilly, pluck down $800? If it's a manufactured piece, I would think there would be some set aside for replacements? Either way, I don't care, but I'm curious how he usually does his thing :).

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe he's attempted anything of this magnitude in the past.

He's done some beautiful full sizes like Robby the Robot and the Cylon and he's done professional work for companies like Sideshow who take care of the manufacturing and shipping etc.

This may be the first time he's taken on a project like this on his own and I think he is finding out just how much work and trouble it is hence the delays.

Well said, Dennis.

Like I said before, I can, and can't wait for this piece. Personally, I'm looking forward for a early July release.

Another shot of my FB Robo. :D

well, the last time i spoke to him which was a while back, he said the first batch were ready to ship. He is just waiting for the box...

That was like 4-5 weeks ago or even 6

March was the last time I spoke with him. Since then I havent got a respone to any of my emails. Im starting to get a little antsy with having to wait so long without any communication. Its been about 7 months now since I sent him cash.

Ya if he's like George at CM and loves to talk forever I won't have time to talk. I'm always running around during the day and usually only have a few minutes. I just want a simple response in writing saying that everyhing is moving along with and expected ship date and when I am to expect mine in the chaos of it all. Hell, he can even lie to me...I just want a response so I don't feel like this guy is in the caribbean drinking a heineken with my money.

How much longer will it take until you go all sideshow about him??? :lol:lol:lol

i emailed fred last week and after a few days he finally did respond. my email was cordial, but very firm in saying i deserve a response as to when i am going to see something for the money i paid.

he apologised and said the units are all done and is expected to ship within the next two weeks. frankly, i'm skeptical, but i'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now...
