Frodo lives in my backyard.

You know, the more I look at these two with the other 4 LOTR figs the more I think they are my favorite figs of any line... I am just really really impressed.

Dang it! Must have a new UPS delivery person on my route. In past, I was able to put out a little message like "with my signature below, you are authorized to leave package on front door". Both my UPS and FedEx person honored it. Now I'll have to take off of work to be here to accept. Sux :sick

I've said many times but it bears repeating here: Sideshow's LOTR 12" line has the capability to be Sideshow's "flagship" line of 12" figures, and by far.

This line really does need a kick in the arse and more announcements at quicker intervals. Hopefully SDCC will provide that kick.

ive thought of trying that myself but i figured it wasnt good enough.

Yeah, if they announce a new figure at SDCC that would be an unprecendented 2 in a 5 month period :lol As long as you don't consider Sam and Frodo as 2 figures.

UPS is messin with me today. :banghead

Still says destination scan, when it arrived in state last night. grrrrr.

Still waiting for UPS :monkey2 :lol

I'm thinking if it's a non-Buck figure, this will be the way things are done, hands, heads, paint, I think these are going to be the style for all new body figures.

Why? These two I can see since it was done with HT help and I think this is tossing them a bone. Plus the box says HT. I'd be willing to bet ya a dollar 2 a donut this is not going to be the way of the future for SS. If it is I'm pretty sure they'd tell us just like they have with the new bodies.

I'm sure they got some input from HT on the new bods but I thought Heath said the Promethus and Armor body was their own thing. So there would be no need to go the HT route on the new figures.

As nice as these look in person and hopefully in my hands soon I'd prefer they stay away from this option as a whole.

Edit: I want to make clear I'm not trying to argue with Sean. Just curious as to why this would all of a sudden be the way because of a new body. SS has never done figures this way before and would be a sudden change. :)

It may comfort you to know that according to UPS my Sam (which is right in front of me as I type) is still in Cerritos, CA.

First, no harm Josh, I know you're not trying to argue, it's all good.

The reason I think this will be the way of things with new body figures is because A) the new ball joint wrists will mean new hand molds so probably come up with some new hands as they have, Indy has a fist hand, B) Hot Toys, like Sideshow, once used harder material for their heads as well as sculpted necks, but they've taken an evolution to the current materials like the Pirates line and the 2 joint neck, and I think the same will come for Sideshow, these new bodies will start an evolution in the overall construction of figures beyond just what body they're built upon. Just observations based on what I've seen.

What do you mean by tossing them a bone, like Sideshow shouldn't list them as a collaborator? It seems like HT and Sideshow are teaming up on a few products. And while the Prometheus was not made with them, I'm pretty sure the armored body was.

Yep, this is from the production blog...

The Armored Figure body, created in collaboration with Hot Toys, has a slimmer build to fit into armored costumes without looking bulky.
