Hope the movie doesn't get scrapped. Tatum shoulda left before the big stage show at SDCC

He just wanted to be in the super hero selfie...look at him, he knew it.

Is it too late for Oscar Issac to leave? He looks confused, like he still doesn't know why he's playing Apocalypes :lol

I also wasn't blown away by Kitsch in Origins, but thought he was a'aight. Far from the worst thing in that film. And he is really good in True Detective, though that character's about as far removed from Gambit as a character can be.

I think Channing is a good actor, who gets undue criticism for GI Joe which, again, had far deeper issues than his casting. But he's not really great for Gambit on first glance. Could have made it work, but I guess we'll never know now.

I think Tatum would be a great Shazam because he's got the right look, and the childlike personality.

If Tatum exits I'm afraid this movie will get scrapped.

Part of me is happy that he wont be Gambit, but the other part sad that Gambit probably won't get a film then :lol

Anybody else with his star power that could take the lead role and make it a hit?

Let Kitsch play Gambit and Tatum can be Colossus, and Reynold as Deadpool, and make their own version of the X-force.

Horrible news!

I think he would have done a great job, and didn’t they just announce the budget was 150 million or something?

A Gambit movie should have never been made in the first place, at least not this early in the Foxverse, theres plenty of other characters and teams that should be getting a movie before him, and Gambit is my favorite X-Man :lol

I don't know, maybe. But I see Channing's default as more of a frat guy. Fun-loving, but not at all innocent, which is what Batson/Captain Marvel should be. I could actually see Chris Pratt pulling that off really well after seeing his run on Parks and Rec, but of course that won't happen.

I hope Gambit movie will still be made.. My fave X-Man. I always draw him as a cameo in every Marvel book I pencilled, hope to one day pencilling a Gambit book. :)

Is gambit even that popular for a solo? Dead pool was a given but gambit isn't all that well known.

Sounds about right. I never wanted Tatum to be Gambit, but you need semi star power/full star power to make this character get noticed.

He's been one of the most popular X-Men since The Animated Series in the 90s, the only thing is he really only works in an ensemble. I do think Gambit is more popular and known than Antman and the Guardians (before their movie).

If Tatum did/does drop out, and he provided the star power needed to greenlight a solo film I rather they scrap the Gambit Solo film and do an X-force film as a sequel to Deadpool with Gambit on the team.

I like this idea!
