How are guys getting 9-11 day shipping notice now???

Mine says that the money is being charged on Monday. So they have to be shipping on Monday as well. But I only base that on the fact that mine USUALLY ship the same day. That doesn't mean that these will...but now I won't know for sure.

Hello.

Usually I'm more a reader than a writer in a forum board. But sometimes I feel the need to post my opinion, and it's about Gamorrean articulation.
Really, why do we collect 1/6 scale FIGURES, instead 1/6 or 1/4 scale STATUES or BUSTS?
Why we fall in love with a 12" G.I. JOE in Star Wars disguise? Oh, yes, I remember... it's articulated body! Starting from that premise, what makes a figure a piece of art? Oh, yes... I remember; the ability to make a character so real as possible in that scale... oh yes, I remember the first time I saw Medicom's ROTJ Vader... I though how the hell they designed a mannequin to look so ___ing :) real... that was an amazing job... and at an amazing price.
Later came Sideshow an began to design the same like Medicom, even better in a lot of regards... and specially in price.
Wow, first was Luke Jedi, Anakin, Obi-Wan...
OMG! they were going to produce a complete Jabba the Hutt's set!
One moment... wait, wait, wait... Is that Jabba a 1/6 figure? Or a 1/6 statue with two extra points of articulation? Oh, and that Salacious? If I want a statue, I'll collect Attakus or some ____t :) like that... Now they are coming again to tell us that Gamorrean doesn't need more articulation? Are you kidding? how much cost that bulky ____t of plastic? Please someone tell me why knee and elbow articulation are not need for ANY 1/6 figure? Oh, yesss, Sideshow are intelligent people and they think... to capture the essence of the character in screen... blah, blah...no need... blah, blah... you will buy that figure even being a ____t... blah, blah.... at 120,00 $... blah, blah, and thats the cheapest for an authentic articulated NEW bulky body ____t... blah, blah...

I like you better as a reader... :rotfl

Doesn't seem to be a lot of excitement for this piece.

Oh, I think folks are excited about it, it's just that it's feast or famine with these releases (as it's always been with Sideshow it seems).

There's so much 1:6 SW goodness happening right now, it's hard to really take in and savor each release before the next one hits.

Greedo, Hammerhead, Rex...all within weeks of each other, all three excellent, high quality figures that have the board abuzz like it hasn't been in a while over Star Wars figures...it's great!

Now the big green guy is on the way and here's hoping for another high quality piece...I know I'm looking forward to him.

And then there's that other green guy coming soon and a certain Clone Commander after that....whew...gonna need a breather just to really soak in all of this great variety of figures....

I'm sure more of a factor is, it's hard for people to pay for that all at once so excitement fades when they pass on things. With many Star Wars figures staying available for quite some time after they ship, people will cancel things if need be now and get it down the line when it's easier. I know the factories go at whatever pace they do, but where so many people order a lot of these different figures, having them all ship at once doesn't work for many. I'm sure from Sideshow's view, if people are ordering figures, they should have the funds ready all along and it wouldn't matter if 1 or 5 figures hit at a time, but many people are usually tight on the spare cash when these big waves hit and things have to get cut.

Of course money's a factor....I personally have dropped every other line I was collecting because of the expense. There are many SW figures I've had to pass on....some I'd like to get later and some I'm out of luck on (unless I want to brave the secondary market and really pay through the nose)

But the one thing remains...these SW figures always seem to bunch up when it comes to release time.

And what I'm talking about isn't a money factor...it's just sharing in the excitement of a new release...the reactions, the reviews, the pictures and yes, sometimes the issues. When the figures get released in bunches like this, sometimes the excitement gets cut short on one and folks move on to the next big thing....and it's too bad when the work on all of them is on such a great level right now.

Anyway, off the box and back to the figures....when's the big green guy coming again? :)

Luckily avoiding PT figures (a new change for me) makes these times a little easier to manage. But still, I'm a bit behind as I didn't drop $$$ directly from Sideshow on Greedo (exclusive was weak) or the Gammy (no exclusive = purchase from a retailer).

my card is being charged on Monday-but living in OZ i probably wont get the figures til a week later...:(

That rules. :rock

He is not in elbows and knees, I think... That's enough for being almost a statue.

That's the only articulation he's missing. He has cut joints at the bicep and wrist, ball joints at the hips and ankles. Not sure about the shoulder or neck, but I think those are ball joints as well.
