Statue or Action Figure. Who effing cares. This figure is B.A. I mean how friggin much movement do you think the actual costume had. Did you see any Guards sitting down in the movie. No.

The figure is able to pull off the poses that most all of us will need it to. After all they aren't ninjas or anything.

If it isn't good enough for you. Then don't buy it. I had to cancel and I am hoping that I am able to get it later on when I can.

See, that's where I totally disagree with you. Just because you didn't see a Gamorrean sit down in the movie doesn't mean that they couldn't sit down in the Star Wars universe. I'd like to be able to do more than just replicate exactly what happened on screen.

the lack of articulation has me concerned because of the price point and the future of figures.

for this price i want full articulation or i might as well get a hasbro figure or something.

as for the future. is this a new trend? will sideshow keep dropping articulation on figures until we are left with statues? i don't want statues. i want action figures.

in actual fact you do see a Gammy sitting down in ROTJ.Once was in the Palace and another is obviously in the Rancor Pit :p

... is this a new trend? will sideshow keep dropping articulation on figures until we are left with statues? ...

I doubt that very much. :lol

I'm certain that Sideshow could have provided more articulation for the Gamorrean. However, it would have meant more visible joints and swivel points ... a complaint that many (myself included) have uttered as the primary strike against action figures over statues in terms of providing the collector with an aesthetically pleasing display.

I'm sure that this is a unique case. Given the stiffness of the GG in the film, they likely didn't see the point in bending over backwards to provide articulation for a figure whose on-screen character lacked articulation itself.

I think you summed it up well... and personally given the design of the figure I think the amount of included articulation is quite good.

I did not see any Gamorrean sitting... What argument is this? I can't believe what you say.
Why can't Sideshow put every single point of articulation on a figure based on humanoid forms? Because is ugly to see the knees' cut? Come on, we are talking about figures, we want to play with them, like always!!! Tell that to Hot Toys and they will be laughing for two weeks.

Look. I am fine with the figure as is. If Hot Toys did the Pig he would in fact be rubber and fall apart in the future. And he would cost close to $200. I am fine with what movement he has.

Fact of the matter is. People ______ about no joints and people ______ about exposed joints. No matter what SS does people aren't happy. I am just happy they did they character at all.

Buy it or don't. I am sure it isn't going to cause SS any real loss of sleep. I for one will be adding it to my collection at some point.

CC has been charged for my 2.But living in Aus i probably wont get mine here til next week :p

I cannot wait to get this figure!!Looks so damn awesome.
I thank SSC for even thinking about the Gammy-so much win for such an intricate, amazing character!!

GG has always been close to my heart.

When I was in grade 1 my teacher who I was really close with gave me a carded vintage GG, wicket and Emperor. The favorite of the 3 being Gammy. I ripped him pen the moment I got him than promptely lost the axe on the way home. Didn't matter the vintage figure had a fist and I made him punch the crap out of all my other figures (irononicaly this fits in with the Gamorrean species as a whole lol) I loved that figure.
I still have him to this day and I even bought an axe for him to replace the one I lost.

So many happy childhood memories. GG has always been one of my favorite figures ever!

This so bought!!! I'm so happy SS made him. :D

Forget rubber, there are a lot of HT excellent figures using visible articulation in naked parts. Just try to hide it, be creative and remember the rules to make a 1/6 scale figure in all its ways.
Otherwise, I can understand why you like the figure, yes, it's a great piece, no doubt. Congratulations if you add it to your shelf, but that is not what we are discussing.
What I say is simple. Why a 1/6 scale Gamorrean figure doesn't come with standard articulation? You know, there is no reason.
But if you say that you don't like visible articulation, then why do you collect figures instead of statues or maquettes?
What I think is that Sideshow wants to sell us less at a higher price, and conformist collectors pays that price, and then try to convince themselves arguing any twaddle to the rest of collectors.
So, yes, what a great figure, but he doesn't come with standard articulation... why do you want to discuss that sad and obvious truth? Ok, enjoy it, but there are no reasons about lack of articulation, and you know it.

Wrong, there is a reason. It costs more to make a unique bodied figure, and cost even more if you add in the articulation. Not saying it couldn't be done, but they chose not to... and if you look at other figures like this its hit and miss as to whether or not you get the same level of articulation or less.

In this case they went with less... but still more usable articulation than they had to; be happy we have ball joints instead of just cut joints.

What he said.

Don't know about you guys, but I've been charged but no shipping notice yet.

I usually get my shipping notice emails about a day or two after they charged my credit card. The longest period between the shipping email and my credit card charge was a week but that was during SDCC when Sideshow was all busy with tons of shipment. :)
