I am not going to say he doesn't look great he does. However, I don't understand how people can just accept the price. I had a discussion with the Josh in the Anakin vs Obi dio thread a few days ago. I mentioned how I liked the piece and I didn't think it was worth $279.99. I still don't think it is worth that. I actually just picked it up for about $100 less than the Sideshow price. Even so I bet the place that I picked it up from still made some sort of profit. That being said I know there is a high mark up on these things. I would just like to know where they get their prices. Heck they have retailers selling their own product less than what they are. I guess I just don't understand. Don't put me in the I hate Sideshow category either because I don't. They were my gateway drug into this whole collectible mess anyways. :rotfl

I understand you exactly, I think it will just keep going up for the Sideshow figures but hopefully stop at $100.:lol

i know im probably just wishful thinking here but.......IS it possible for them to do a GTW exclusive later down the track this yr now that the con season is about to kick off again....

Really? I've not heard of anyone complain of that before, I just hear other collecting friends constanly rave about their Predators & Terminators. That sucks.

Read the predator/aliens/terminator threads.

PLENTY of stories of breakage.

They sell their stuff at the recommended retail price. The price Sideshow tells them they should be able to get. This is so the retailers know how much they ought to be able to make to meet their costs and cover their overheads. Sideshow could sell their items for wholesale but that would undermine the sales at their retailers. Retailers sell at a discount price if it means they will be able to move product and therefore make marginally more profit, which is just a theory until it works in practice. Bigger retailers mean bigger discounts, that is why not all retailers sell at discount prices. By rights it might mean Sideshow only move the exclusives direct, but they give people the opportunity to buy their regular items as well. This is just the quick reply. There is much more to it and it gets more complicated from here.

There are plenty of posts about people breaking Hot Toys stuff. You are missing a lot of stuff I would say. :D

Well then I'll have to lower my estimation of their product then. I don't have any but have thought of adding a Predator somewhere down the road.

What does "was nerd blanked on" mean?

While Hot Toys IS now the top dog in the 1/6th world, they have their quality control issues just the same as everyone else.

Thank you Josh.

Badmoon go **** yourself and pour yourself another Guinness.

Dude that's not even cool. I am giving my opinion on something. I think the price is getting out of hand. Thats all. I am not going to sit here and throw up :rock symbols and say how cool it is. I am going to voice a concern. I think the figure is great. I just don't get the price.

If I can pay 175.00 (shipped) for a Medicom Jango Fett, I can easily pay 105.00 (shipped) for this Gandalf. Dirty robes or not, this is another anazing figure from Sideshow.
