Wow, 530 some odd posts later and now not only are people still bickerin' about the price, but now we have lessons being taught, not only on supply and demand, but basic economics and, dare I say grammar.

Someone actually tried two korrecket somebuddy's gwammar.

Come on, we need to qwit arguing amungst each udder and pway nice.

It is a great figure, as far as we can see from the pictures.

That is right, the company listened to those that have been asking, and they gave us a Gandalf The Grey at last.

Thank you Sideshow.

Pwease ow pwease don't fwame me 4 my gwammar and spewwing.:D

Screw business school, we should all just read this thread to graduate :rock:rock:rock:rock:rock

However if the figure were $60 and only came with one staff, one cloak, perhaps a hat sculpted of hard plastic and not removeable - no print on the culottes (perhaps no culottes at all, just the outer robes) - would that be better?

If the quality went down I really doubt I'd continue buying. I love how amazing these are. Gandalf looks to be the best so far IMO.

And personally I want the pissy, condescending posts to continue. It's very entertaining. :lol

Very entertaining.......

Well then,

I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE

I DRINK IT UP! :D

My point was that it's no one's "fault". Sideshow can't/won't sell this product any cheaper than $90 and still make it worthwhile to release.

I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. My point was that if a product turns out to be too expensive for a company to make money selling it, then it's their fault. They have misread the market. Maybe they made the design too complex to be manufactured cheaply. Maybe they just wanted too large of a profit margin. Maybe people aren't interested in the license. It doesn't matter what the reason is.

Please keep in mind that I'm not saying this is the case with Gandalf. In fact, I have specifically said the opposite. This is a theoretical discussion about what might happen if prices continue to rise as they have been.

However if the figure were $60 and only came with one staff, one cloak, perhaps a hat sculpted of hard plastic and not removeable - no print on the culottes (perhaps no culottes at all, just the outer robes) - would that be better?
If $90 were the breaking point for the LOTR line, then yes it would be better for them to charge $60 for a simpler figure that would allow them to make a profit, rather than charging $90 for a figure that most people would not buy. (Again, I'm not saying that is the case with this particular figure -- I'm buying it, after all.)

There you go.

Live a little.

Celebrate a great figure and be happy that you got one on order.

Everyone has their own opinions and life is too short to argue over the price of something that we collect, for whatever reason we collect them.

I just don't want people posting pics of Gandalf in all his glory with his new body and just his staff.

You haven't met Wor-Gar and his kitchen shots?

Nope, been gone from the site for a while.

I remember Wor-Gar, but missed the posts.

Thank you both for humoring me on my comment.:D

Noone really bit on it last night.

The joke that is, not ...... nevermind.

Exactly. Prices are going up everywhere. Before you complain about a few bucks on a figure, look at gas.

Things are in the ****ter. The dollar is low. I don't see how people can expect these to be as low as $40 even. It's not as it was before and probably never will be again. It sucks. Something like collectibles is going to feel it hard.

And without lube.

our dollar is going bankrupt, but no-body is listening because toys are more important! Our freedoms are being lost, but not too many care! People are losing their homes, but hey television isnt telling you that, so it must not be true. Soon you all wont be able to afford to buy any of this stuff! Everything keeps going up in price! The Economy is just fine because the media tells you so.

Wow, this guy isn't banned yet? He must be really lucky!

Dude I know how you feel! Just the other night I seen an alien space craft holding the remains of Elvis above my head. What is this world coming too? :lol
