I'm a Knicks fan and it is

I wouldn't even mention Cleveland in the same sentence unless I was talking about the Browns.

Knicks have been an embarrassment sinc Allan Houston retired

I'd contribute that a lot to your guys owner. Guy doesn't get 2 ****s about NY. Just another lazy rich guy who shouldn't own a team. Our owner in Sac may be delusional, but at least he's passionate about the team :lol

I'll reserve judgment until we see them play together. CP3 has incredible basketball IQ. A lot of people wondered how LeBron and DWade would be able to play together when James went to Miami. At the very least, Paul will improve Houston's half court offense.

Interesting article on ESPN reported this:

...Paul had become unhappy with Doc Rivers over the preferential treatment of his son over other players on the roster. Sources [said] that Doc Rivers would yell at players for certain things during games and practices but would not get on Austin Rivers in the same manner for similar transgressions.

Now this is the part that gets me...

In addition, ...Paul lost both trust and faith in his coach after Doc Rivers ultimately declined a trade last season that would have sent Carmelo Anthony and Sasha Vujacic to the Clippers in exchange for Jamal Crawford, Paul Pierce and Austin Rivers.

How do you NOT make that trade?

Anyways, reports also state that Houston will try to get Paul George. Say what you will about Daryl Morey, but the Rockets GM is not afraid to swing for the fences. His moves don't always work out, but he goes for it...trading for James Harden, signing Dwight Howard, signing Chris Bosh to an offer sheet that Miami matched, now trading for Chris Paul...Morey's the opposite of Danny Ainge.

well, you need 3 all stars to have any kind of chance at winning these days. They could also try and push for Melo in Hous now if that dummy will waive his no trade clause. Maybe Griffin follows Paul as well?

He owns the NY Rangers who are a playoff team yearly.

Heard CP3 was looking for $42 mil a yr contract to resign with Clips...it might of had something to do with the trade.

If so I can't say it was a bad move at his age and Clippers status in the west t no reason to eat unnecessary luxury tax cost

What happened to Cleveland when Lebron left?

Irrelevant though, they got him back and did something

What have the Knicks done besides bring on guys past their prime, hold onto a guy that can't carry a team, a have a coaching carousel each year.

The Knicks are a storied basketball frachise, and they have been absolute garbage for way to long, and to m it's unacceptable and as AZ that **** is on Dolan

I meant the Knicks, not NY in general.

I would laugh in his face if I was the owner and he wanted that much. He's got maybe 2 good years left before he really declines.

Reports are that the Clippers refused to give him 5 years, only four, and that's the main reason why he left.

Either option $ or yrs solid reason to move him imo...... while a good player getting too old to warrant a long term deal with a huge dollars attached. Short term two year deal...maybe

I'm sure he's expecting a long term deal from Houston. I'm not sure what Houston can offer in 2018.

Houston may take the risk. I think losing Lou Williams and Beverly is going to hurt them. I just don't see the team being better after the trade even though they got a better player.

I think they are better, but not by much. I think the big advantage is that one of the two players can always be on the court. I'm not sure they will be that much better with both players on the court at the same time.

^This. During their second round series with the Spurs, the Rockets looked lost without Harden running the offense. At the end of Game 5 where it looked like the Rockets were going to steal that game in San Antonio, Harden ran out of gas. The Spurs stuck to the outside shooters, allowed Harden to drive to the rim, met him in the lane with a big, and watched as he threw errant pass after errant pass.

Chris Paul improves their half court offense, and ensures that there will be one of them on the court at all times. Is that enough to challenge Golden State? Probably not, but lets see what other moves Morey makes.

Houston was bad at defense and are worse now after losing beverly. CP3 is a great player but his age and injury history makes me wonder if this will pan out like they'd hoped.

Now if HOU gets a good SF/PF, then they may start looking at being #2 team in west.

I don't think this puts them close to the Warriors, and the Spurs are still better than the Rockets to me. I can't believe I watched John Salley actually debate that the Rockets have the best backcourt in the league.

As a Warriors fan I don't fear the Rockets at all. The Spurs I fear, the Rockets I don't. Maybe they'll prove me wrong, but I just don't think Harden and CP3 will be a good fit on the court.

Losing to GS every year in the finals from now on is the bigger joke.

Maybe you missed this?

well Bev and Williams didn't give them much towards the end of the SA series. Bev showed that he can be a mental liability at times. A great defender who can shoot, but never seemed like a guy would come through when things got tight. That said, I would 've tried to move Gordon instead of Bev just for defense alone.

I agree. I think SA is still better because they have Pop, but I am also very sure Houston is not done yet. I think they bring another All Star on by the time the season starts , whether that be Melo, Griffin, or PG.

Speaking of Melo, looks like he's wiling to take a buyout to go to Cle. Even if that happens, I think they would still trade Love, maybe for solid roll players.
