Overpriced for sure! Way over :nono
I did look up the Wampa and it is huge which doesn’t necessarily warrant the price but with Alien I don’t need to collect a whole line. If I have nothing else to order when this come out I may still get one.

If it's $150 or under it'll be mine. I might be willing to go up to $200, but it'll be a very hard sell.

I'm very fortunate as I have an original Kenner Alien. All parts are there including the dome, however the arms are loose as the rubber bands have deteriorated. The box is in a pretty shonky state too. I was hoping to get one of these bad boys, but if they're going to ask a ludicrous RRP they can go whistle.

According to the GG website the Wampa is shorter than the Alien at 22”. I can believe they will priced at a similar point :thud:

Exactly. I can see why collectors would want it same as I want the alien, as a cool nostalgic novelty piece. They are shooting themselves in the foot with the price.

Damn I missed out on this. Almost bought the original 18 inch. Any word on the release date on this? I sure hope its no higher than $250 or I'm out!

This will be at least $300, and way overpriced. I don't buy GG anymore, but would make an exception for this. However, there's no way I'd pay full price. Their stuff doesn't hold its value, doesn't sell well and is always marked on deep discounts months after release.

How accurate was the original Kernner 18" version compared to the movie suit?

The shape is very faithful...the dome is more correct than most alien figs barring that the dome is removable, so there's no curve towards the bottom edge. It's a better shape and size than the tsukuda version of the dome, in its vinyl incarnation.

There's a detail below the ribs that appears as if a secondary sculptor took over and simply sculpted cross-hatched lines in lieu of the piping...
This detail is actually correct on the screen used latex costume...it is so portion of the costume overlapped by the ribs and can only be seen when the actor stretches or has a portion of the suit off.

The ox jawbone is not apparent on the back of the heels here, but the silhouette of the whole figure is pretty dead on...just a little "chubbier" overall.

It even has some vein details and "peeling" skin...

Giger has praised this sculpt in the past...it really captures the essence...

I'm going to guess $400-500 easy. And at that point, why bother. You can get the OG for the same price.

Less if you're willing to get it used.

I honestly had no idea GG's prices were that insane for these. And again, even at a 50% discount this won't be worth it. Ah, well. Money saved on this overpriced (and oversized ;) ) nostalgia gimmick is money I can spend on other stuff.

Good to hear :)

Agreed, anything more then $150 for me and I wont buy.

With the Wampa in mind, this Alien figure is going to be a lot more than $150 I'm afraid. Which sucks for us. GG probably isn't going to make very many in my estimation. We'll see.

If this ever gets made to begin with. GG has a bad habit of displaying product at shows like SDCC that never gets made. Either that or it'll be a SDCC EX.

Could it be possible that they 'learned' from the fan reception of the Wampa price tag? There was a LOT of internet rage over that. Or will greed simply win out?
