I am sooo sorry to all that had such a crappy day. I recently bought and pre-ordered all of the LOTR and POTC animated peices from Gentle Giant.... If they ever pull this crap on either line I will have no problem selling my peices. Even though they have some awesome lines it seems that they have no clue how to properly treat a customer. Again, I am sorry for all your stress today... go have a drink

I just got a call back from Jewell at GG and it looks like my order went through! I never got a confirmation, just the failure message over and over. Then I checked and saw that a charge had gone through my card. She confirmed that I did indeed get charged for my order and if I bring my ID I will be all set, even without an e-mail confirmation. So now I can relax!

Last year they had my name on a list with the items I ordered. You just need to show your ID and sign for them. That was the only smooth thing about ordering thru GG.

So . . .here's a silly question. Is it possible to pick up another of the same at the Con in addition to the item I pre-ordered? Especially if this is for someone else? Or do they REALLY limit you to one per collector, even though you lined up fairly for another one???

Well at CIV they punched your bagde for the pickup, you can get the ones you didnt order but not duplicates.

Easily the worst pre-order I've ever been involved in. Having Glorfindel in my shopping cart (TWICE!!!) and then not having the order process was just too much for me. It was like I was at a grocery store check out line and some one came from behind and dumped it all on the floor.

With Sideshow, it has always been getting the order page to download that was the hardest part. But once you added the item to your cart you are good as gold. Gentle Giant made me feel that I was robbed of my purchase.

However... I did FINALLY score a Luna for my daughter... but not before nearly losing my sanity first.

While I was waiting yet another failure to process notice, I took a hammer to my one and only GG Bust Up of Anakin.

That's IT! I'm not doing this again! They can take their exclusives and shove them where the sun don't shine.....and sideways. The last time I was this frustrated was when I was in labor for my first son over 30 years ago. Going thru a wave of labor pain, only to know that the next one will come at you soon enough. And you had unknown time of doing this. But at least, I knew that there would be an END....I would either slide that kid out or die.

Except with GG....there seemed to be no end in sight. I tick marked all the glitches I came up with in my 3 - 1/2 hours of torture....
14 blank pages right after I clicked send order
5 forced kick outs and relogs
9 messages of can't process this order, try again
4 error messages
2 official reprimands from my boss for unprofessional language at the top of my lungs in the workplace

After all of that, I THINK I got a Luna. Not sure. No e-mail confirmation. But my account shows that I do.

If I EVER think about ordering GG exclusives again, they will have to do some mighty fancy wooing and promises of better process, customer respect, etc., before I'll even consider. They can have a 24-carat gold plated whatsits at special price of $5 and I won't even give that a thought. Incompetents.

Again I cant say how much I appreciate you preordering this one. I am so sorry it took you so long to do it. I know I was watching the guys in this thread about pull their hair out trying to order all of them. Now I need to win the raffles for Bacara and Bly and I want have as much to worry about for these or maybe I will be able to win the 5 pack. And dont worry Cody will be in my collection forever or until I get married and then I might be made to sell my busts because she says whats the point in paying $50 for half a figure.

I know. Getting Cody makes the CC thing much easier as it puts me with only needing Bacara to have all 5 (since Mark got me Bly). I'm quite pleased a buddy from Sandtroopers got me Glorf since I REALLY wanted that. I've got an extra Luna once Rumi knows for sure her order is ok.

Hey does anyone want to go on a treasure hunt for me at Comic Con there are these 5 Star Trek II figures that are exclusives. Its TWOK versions of Scotty McCoy Sulu and Chekov plus theres the free Genesis Khan when you buy all 4. Basically you go from NewForceComics to EE to AFX and then you got to DST and they will give you the Khan after buying the Sulu. Also George Takei will be there one day I think. Michelle Nichols was there last year and I got a Mirror Mirror Uhura signed by here.

I also need the 3 Hasbro exclusives.

Today was the worst ordering experience I have been involved in--for any product, from any company ever.

And to think that they delayed it from Wednesday to upgrade the server! It doesn't seem like that helped much. My wife was sitting at a computer trying to help me order for about two hours and at no time did she even get the main preorder page to load. I should take her out to dinner for her effort.

I have been on the fence about whether or not to continue collecting GG for a while, and this experience certainly didn't leave me with a favorable impression.
