GI Joe 2: Retaliation

NONE of the Joes were recognizable...they ALL wore the same Camo outfits.Nothing in this film really reminded me of the GI Joe characters I know...

Snake Eyes looked like a Black Ninja turtle

Storm Shadow wearing all leather is laughable (you could hear the noisy leather)

Firefly looked nothing like his character (more like some slob that wore a ski mask getting ready to rob a bank)

Zartan looked nothing like his character and didnt even really appear.(why bother having Zartan in this film?)

Destro then gets the boot before he had a chance (what a way to just write him out of the film so they don't have to use him)

I really didn't care Cobra Commander's voice.(There also was way too much Chrome on the helmet and not covered up enough)

The movie was just a mindless,plotless,all over the place bomb,barely better than ROC...

I don't have an issue with Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes, if anything they are the saving grace of this movie.

The Destro "you're not in the club" thing was quite lame...

I did however liked Cobra Commander a lot actually! And would've liked to have more of him.

IMO, it's not a terrible movie, it's actually much better than ROC, but the fact that it feels so much smaller, and the threat

is non-existent until the last few minutes

makes it a little bit dull.
But, I'll just move on... I enjoyed it for what it is...

I had heard there was a second actor doing the voice over for CC and I was really hoping for the vintage CC sound.

The rest doesn't really surprise me... soft reboot?

I have not heard anything good about the Flint character which is another major disappointment, I was hoping this DJ guy would be good in the role. Was Flint just mishandled or was the actor just not able to pull it out?

Anyways, still excited to see Jinx, so....

Most of the Actors didn't ressemble anything of their respective characters.Flint will dissapoint you for sure

Why is it so hard to not just stick to the source?

The Costumes are not great and why not make each Joe and Cobra colorful as they should be?? (make the costumes like the Sideshow Joes)

Been a long time since I visited Hisstank, but from what I recall it was populated in large measure by (often potty mouthed) kids getting into Joes for the first time. Ones whose first exposure to Joes were the current 25th and beyond style we see at stores. Not judging them. I'm glad they are into them and have helped to spur interest in new figures by Hasbro and Sideshow alike. But I don't think the ARAH-type "G.I. Joe fan base" consists solely or even primarily of those people.

I had hopes that this movie would redeem the franchise, but it didn't... I am now VERY worried about the future of the MOTU movie...

The title will simply be shortened to "Masters"
It will be Written by stepen sommers.
It will be Directed By Michael Bay.
IT will Star Sean Penn as Skeltor, Rowan Atkinson at He-man.
Richard Dean Anderson will play Man at arms, and Ron Jeremy as Teela.
Beast-man will be reimagined as Beastess, who will be played by Megan fox. She won't need much makeup.

Is it better then Rise of Cobra? I guess...? In the sense that it doesn't feel so goofy and wacky.....

Is it better then Bayformers? No. I'll tell you why. No matter what you think about those movies, love them to death, or wish they would ****ing die....you have some kind of emotional response while watching them. I felt nothing. No rush from the action, no excitement from seeing a character....not even sering anger towards the images I was seeing. ...nadda.

It's not a movie that you leave pissed off, shaking your fist, going "RARAGHHH!! YOU BLEW IT!!!" You leave going...meh. And then everything is forgotten. Which is the worst kind of movie. The bland, forgettable one.

So... by your reasoning... if i made a movie that was nothing but 3 and a half hours of the goatse man... and this film made you feel utter disgust and contempt, you'd say it's a better film than The New Joe movie?
not arguing with your logic, simply trying to understand it. so in essence, your biggest gripe is that it's ...forgettable.

Yes. Exactly that. Goatse, you'd have some kind of emotional reaction to the images on the screen.

The biggest problem is that there wasn't a point to the action. For example...no spoilers.

The Rock is about to do something important...but before he can, he see's those Fireflies again, so he backs off and ducks for cover, as they explode everywhere. He ends up meeting with Mr. Firefly....and then they have a fist fight.

Why? Why are they fighting? The mission was blown. Firefly doesn't need anything...it doesn't make much sense other then to be cool. And that's fine...but they didn't take the time to make it cool.

There wasn't a clear goal for the action. And I was kinda left cold in that regard.

It's also a very small movie. Like I said, the final battle takes place under a concrete bridge in Louisiana. Uh. Alright.....you couldn't have picked a more visually interesting spot? Even with a low budget, there has to be a better place then under a bridge.

- Anything is better than those turds... I'd take 5 straight days of watching ROC over and over again than 15 minutes of Bayformers...

On the topic of Flint, The character didnt have anything to do, And DJ Catrona brought nothing to the character, im not asking him to be Lincoln, but put some emotion into the 3 lines you say.

It would of just been better if it was Duke the entire time! Atleast we have some connection to him.

If you combine the best parts of ROC and Retalitation, youd have a pretty cool movie, but honestly theres no hope.

I will say this, i thought the 3D was pretty good, i heard it was terrible but they threw some things at you, that doesnt make it great but atleast exciting at times.

Most movies today are just that.. forgetable

Is Retaliation forgetable? very much so...its slighty better than ROC but that does not say much

and Sadly,Chu is scheduled to Direct MOTU

hopefully Mattel does step in to do it right,but doubtful
