Kuz, that's because I hate the original Transformers. :lol. I have a bigger appreciation for GI JOE.

Those silly blocks are 100x better than anything Michael Bay has put in theaters.

And Transformers > G.I. Joe

I Dunno. Robots who disguise themselves as vehicles is starting to sound pretty silly now that I think about it lol

I used to love all this stuff as a kid. I grew up in the 80's watching and playing with Tranformers, GI JOE, He-Man etc.
It's best to just leave these things as toys and cartoons of the 80's and stop trying to make live action serious attempts at making these movies lol STOP THE MADNESS.

The movie was doomed to fail from the beginning. Not sure what all the fuss is about. Think the majority of people were already in agreement on how bad it was going to be.

Re: figures and collectibles Gi Joe is kinda of different compared to other movies since the comics, cartoons, movies, etc where basically a different way to promote action figures and not based on any concrete storyline or character development.

Whereas it goes the opposite way with some of HTs more popular releases. HTs likes to make their releases based off of the movie reference so if the movie is popular so is the figure. If it isn't...well...they'll give it the Green Lantern...or however many other licenses they have scraped.

Please keep the discussion on topic and leave your opinions about other matters for other non-existant threads (due to their volatile nature). I'm sure that there are other websites where like-minded individuals would love to discuss things other than movies and collectibles. Here we like the silly.

Thanks.

I want to punch this movie in the face. That's how bad it is.

Still, that makes it marginally better than ROC.

That doesn't sound good. My buddy saw it and thought it was OK-- I was hopeful that it might be a step in the right direction. No power-up suits though, right? Or Wayan brother?

Yeah, it's definitely an improvement in that regard and better than ROC. And there are a few cool elements. But overall it's just more rubbish, sadly.

So what you're saying is.. on a brutal man-love scale of one to ten, with ten being Travolta in fat woman suit, Taintum is 215 pounds? :horror

Sad to hear it's more of the same to hit the target audience... I wish they'd do a serious-gritty version like they used to have in the GI Joe Secret Missions comics-- but then, I'd also like a Batman movie (without ANY origin slant and absolutely NO love interest) that actually shows him as a detective-- something dark and very gritty.

Retaliation is pure crap, but it's the kind of bad I can't even get angry about, the movie would have to have a pulse for me to get mad at it. It is lifeless, directionless and ultimately not worth the time or energy to hate on it. I have already forgotten almost everything that happened.

Comparing G.I.Joe films to Transformers is nonsense IMO. Transformers (especially the first) had a life, it was fun and had at least a vision from the director (whether people liked it or not). I personally still love the first Transformers and think it's an actual good movie. Both G.I.Joe films are nothing but cash grabs. They are lifeless and neither one have any idea of what made the source material special.
