Yeah, see, I knew TF would suck before I saw it, because it was Michael Bay, and the robots looked stupid, etc., and lo and behold, it did suck. This one, same basic thing. Will I see it? Yes, probably on DVD. But I can place money on the fact that I won't like it. I can just tell. When you have seen enough movies, you can get a feel for the relationship between the early material (trailers, costumes, etc.), production teams, writers, directors, etc. and the usual outcome.

If GI Joe is produced by the man behind another crappy movie update of 80s cartoon (Transformers, check), has retarded looking outfits, goofy actors, and green globs destroying famous monuments in a stupid looking trailer including crappy CGI Snake Eyes (check), and has a director of horrible movies (Mummy franchise, check), it is not unreasonable to expect a ^^^^ty movie. Which this will probably be. There is a chance that it won't, but the likelihood is otherwise.

My hope is that this is so spectacularly awful that it is brilliantly entertaining. Like Flash Gordon. CHEEEEEEEESY movie but dear god I love it...

My expectations are so low for this film that I will probably check out a Matinee. There is nowhere to go but up.

Now if they had only used that photo, right there, I don't think any of us would be complaining and most would have Fandango up ready to preorder tickets!

But from what I've seen so far, this looks like a CGI overload with the only saving grace being Ray Park as Snake Eyes.

Well, at least the DragonBall Z fans now share our pain in Hollywood's bastardization of the fond memories from childhood. As I said about the G.I. Joe movie, you could change all the names of the characters in that film and you'd never know that was a DBZ movie.

Hahha...I love that candid shot. It's like Snakes is just waiting for them to stop and he knows he's so bad-azz anyways that he'll just tear it up!

At least for me...at least they got Snake Eyes right. I can forgive the molded mouth because they got so much more of his look RIGHT than wrong (unlike characters like Ripcord). Same goes for Storm Shadow in my opinion...even though he has this yakuza look, he is still look-wise much more like his character than anything else. I even dig the look they gave him (I liked his look in DD's GI Joe Reloaded comic).

I have a feeling we'll be pleasantly surprised with Destro when he puts on his mask. The only one that worries me too much is Cobra Commander. Sure they are keeping his look hidden, but to take too much away from his iconic look will certainly tick fans off. Just like Snake-Eyes is known for his trademark "knight visor" and Destro for his mask and Storm Shadow for being the only ninja I know in WHITE, Cobra Commander is known for his chrome faceplate...and his hood.
