Did you miss the "NEW" on the package? It's not part of the Marvel continuity we were basing the discussion around. And given that Hama was at least partially involved with the movie, strips him of any credibility in my book. Besides, I'm not that thrilled with what he's doing with the Origins book.

well it's certainly not conclusive by any means, but it does bolster my side of the discussion a bit...

Do you think they just listened to him and sent him home?

I'd like to think that he would've been stark raving mad about what they did to a franchise he helped build considering he was highly vocal about his headbutting with Hasbro over characters they wanted in the Marvel books. But I'm hard pressed to find anything negative he's said about the movie. :( Irish would be the one to ask, he thrives on this type of ^^^^. :lol

by the ORIGINAL author.

A simple work-for-hire story he did for Hasbro. It has nothing to do with classic Marvel continuity, Storm Shadow even boasts a Devil's Due costume in the pic. They also paid Hama to do a comic featuring Nemesis Enforcer from Cobra-La and we all know how canon they are to Hama. Nil.

If ninjas with guns are your thing more power to you. There's obviously been a few SS figures from 2001 and later that have them. I'm just glad classic Marvel/RAH SS didn't use them during his battles with GI Joe.

The Target exclusive Hall of Heroes 12 inch line from the 90's certainly wasn't a part of the classic 3 3/4 inch RAH/Marvel series. But I'll give you that the silly gun toting 12 inch SS with red missile launcher (possibly the inspiration for the movie :google) did come out in 1993 (a year before the real Joe line ended.)

But it's still not a picture of him from the Marvel series toting a rifle. :huh

What's the debate? Whether or not Storm Shadow ever used a gun?

Issue 24. In an effort to save Cobra Commander from a pursuing Skyhawk Storm Shadow assembles a sniper rifle and climbs a tree to a good vantage point.

Sad but true... :( I personally prefer to view him as only using the ancient Ninja weapons. But in fact he did at least once carry a gun.

I could be an ass and argue that Gung Ho lobs a mortar at Storm Shadow and prevents him from ever actually "using" the gun hence preserving our perception of Storm Shadow utilizing only the classic weaponry post Nam, but for the sake of getting back on topic, I'll digress.

Apparently he did say something negative about it during SDCC 2008:
11:48 Hamma did rip the movie guys about directions they wanted to go, and they listened to him when they could.

I don't know what he specifically said though.

I think that means "We'll cram in two minutes for this Hama bozo to yap while we're waiting in the catering line. Just nod and smile."
