I may try for Merry Pippin. In a few months though. I am not sure I have the resources to jump right in just now.

I just carved off the Roto-Gimli shoulder pieces (way easier than I thought it would be). So it looks like I am entering the final stretch of my custom Gimli. :D

Your Gimli looks great. The only thing I'd do differently would be to pull that sheathed Axe out that's on the right side a bit and tuck the handle through the ring on the belt. It actually goes through both the strap on the breast of the harness and the ring on the waist:

Oh, good suggestion. Done.

And thanks for the link for the chainmail, I am dry on funds at the moment, but at least I know what to look for.

Thnx

Don't mention it. I've noticed that the price on just about all the Gimli stuff has shot up since we all began this little journey. The fatsuit is still relatively available but closer to $10 now. The mail was all over ebay for about $5 shipped. Now it's about $16. Both ToyBiz Gimlis have shot up from $20 to around $30 and that's when they're posted (the rotocast which once peppered ebaY cursed as unsellable is now scarce!:lol). And dear Kelly either owns stock in DiD or hijacked a tanker's worth of the damn things from Customs and they're still thankfully $20 a pop...for now at least. I'm just wondering what the hell she did to mine to make it smell that bad?!:rotfl

What? No Merry or Pippen? I thought that was next on the list. I'm still gunning for those but I'm also getting everthing ready for my Moria Orc. Gimlis are looking are great.

I would be committed to Merry and Pippin if we managed to secure a good sculptor to produce a professional appearance.

I want to keep going on Merry/Pippin. Here's my little ones displayed in the new Book cases.

Is that a stock Toybiz Bilbo you have there? What do you think of it?

My next project. I've already got one en route. I'm planning on trimming the head bald and popping it onto a Frodo body, giving him Frodo's perm (after aging it), giving Frodo's coat and pants a blue bath and seeing how well that red vest transfers. Definitely going to give that glossy face a matte finish as well.

Maybe we can get Darren Carnall to do the Merry and Pippin head sculpts for us. His work on the Aragorn and Legolas 1/6 heads is incredible.

Bilbo is already my next project as well.

I just received a hobbit body today from a fellow Freak and will be attempting to port over the Toybiz Bilbo sculpt and clothing. The sculpt would benefit from a repaint but it's not too bad as is.

As for Merry and Pippin, I think if we get a "well done" sculpt of each, then half the battle is done. I'll take a great sculpt with so-so outfit over the reverse, any day.

Who is a good 1/6 scale clothes designer?

Cool he has two PMs now. :lol

When he responds we should set up an official custom thread (assuming he accepts.)
