Go-Hero thinks they are Hot Toys...... :rotfl

Hot Toys has NEVER even attempted making a figure with this many metal (working) parts, including ALL the weapons. Even the space cannon blaster is metal. That with metal helmet, rocket pack and real leather jacket with metal control panel and working knobs and leather belt will make this stand out as much more realistic on the shelf.

Yup, your eyes don't lie, they know the difference between seeing real metal and plastic made to look like metal. I've had some serious customs made and those details make a huge DIFFERENCE in the realism of a figure, whether it's replacing real leather shoes (or boots) for plastic shoes or using metal accessories -- but I have to give Hot Toys credit, they DID use a tiny metal ring to hang the lightsabre on the Luke Skywalker belt. :lol

Seriously, your eyes know the difference and that heightens the collecting experience. :wink1:

I think Go Hero won that little exchange with Frank whatshisname. :lol

I'm quite keen to see what this will look like in hand with all those metal parts. The more I look at him the more I like him.

I think he did. Especially when Steve opened with, 'Actually it's even more expensive than you said'!

Really? Come on, where can you buy a collectible figure now a days for $100.-$125.00? The guy was being ridiculous. Steve won with this.

I for one can't wait for this figure.

Personally I think the metal stuff is a real hindrance. It's too heavy for figures to hold a pose with (and costly to ship as it adds weight). Anyone who has the Buck Rodgers knows how difficult that is to display due to the glass helmet. Making stuff with "real metal", bulky leather, glass, wood, etc, isn't doing us any favors. It's just giving them a reason to charge lots of cash and pretend it's special. There's not much to the Rocketman figure relative to other 1/6 releases these days and the fact that it's priced right up there with the highest of high end commercial figures is just plain stupid.

Props to Steve on how he responded... I hope they are able to deliver on what is promised here.

And hopefully all of that metal comes with the final product... one of the reasons I'm a bit cautious with GH products is when I ordered the Flash Gordon figure it was supposed to have metal accessories (I believe the skeleton Warriors were as well). But then at some point it became plastic and in the end the figure took a serious step back in quality from what was solicited. Not to mention the same figure was later re-released for a lot less through some weird business shenanigins that I don't think were GoHero's fault, but still soured me on buying from them again.

Buck turned out pretty good, although I've never gotten the MP3 function on his body to work and the plating on his visor began flaking after a year :lol

I tend to agree... metal used sparingly can be nice, but I'd imagine a heavy helmet could lead to the body wilting over time.

As far as using metal, I doubt GH will use a heavy metal, they do know something about possible poseability issues as they already made and photographed a proto , I don't what's happened with their past figures but you can wipe all that history away now that they are working with a manufacturer they like and trust -- I imagine they'll choose a correct lightweight metal for the jetpack and helmet. Maybe aluminum, etc. We'll see...

Just in from BBTS:

We have located a new supplier for this product at a lower price. Therefore we want to pass this savings onto our customers. At this time your preorder will now reflect the price of $234.99 instead of the original price of $259.99.

Thanks, picking up a second one to do a Holdren.

Just pulled out Buck Rogers again... he's really good! Especially with that MP3 player. Forgot about that thing.

I am really looking forward to Go Hero's next figure of an iconic heroine from comics, TV, and film played by a cult favorite actress.

In the meantime I pre ordered their Commander Cody.

Sheena? I was tempted to buy a second Reelart statue just to use the head for a custom figure, but the statue is closer to 1:8th than 1:6th. Irish was smokin' hot in that role. Hope that GH/ER/PH can capture the likeness, if this is what the figure is going to be.

I have the Reelart statue too. Have you seen the Sheena website? It has videoclips of Irish's show, photos, and biography. Click on Irish and the chimp.

As for their next figure, I think its best Go Hero announce who the iconic heroine will be. Can't wait! Really want this. Hint: it will go well with the Hot Toys Adam West figure as they were friends.

I'm not in a position to announce anything for anybody. Just guessing who it might be based on the clues you posted. The amount of female characters who have appeared in comics, movies AND tv can be counted on one hand. Wonder Woman was in comics and tv, but has yet to appear in a movie. Barbarella has been in comics and a movie, but never to my knowledge on tv. Barb Wire, comics and a movie, but not tv. The more I think about it Sheena is really the only one off the top of my head that fits all three criteria. I doubt Go Hero is goig to go the bootleg route as thier other projects are licensed, so that eliminates Wonder Woman for sure. Maybe it is a more obscure character like Honey West? Looking forward to seeing whoever it ends up being.
