Been waiting for this one since I don't know when. Now if only Go Hero would do the Republic Robot as a companion piece...

Cool. I love these retro characters, and GoHero has done a very fine job so far (I have Flash Gordon & Buck Rogers, and they are superb). I'm not 100% sure if I would go for Rocket Man, but as far as I'm concerned, the more of these retro characters get attention and are made, the better!

I've seen a couple of these 'Discovery Astronaut' suits for sale last year, but they were VERY expensive. There where a couple of colors: yellow, white, blue and orange I think.

I really like it, though the pants seem a bit rough. But the $260 kills it for me. I just have other things taking priority at that price point.

Great looking figure, but so far everything from GoHero has been so-so quality. No way I'd drop this much on another figure from them. Had it been $150 I'd be interested.

Also the chest box looks very undersized.

In some pics it does, in others ( below) it doesn't. Hopefully, they'll get the scale right.



I'm definitely getting it as this figure will never be made again and the working metal parts makes it stand apart IMO. I also hear GH may do alternate heads ( Coffin, Holdren, etc. ) in the future.

Agree. I would've been interested at $150ish. $260 is laughable. The outfit should be brown, like a bombers jacket, not black.

My Medicom Rocketeer jacket looks like real leather, but end up flaking anyway.

Unless they write Genuine Real Leather, I'll take it with a pinch of salt. Synthetic leather's also considered Leather, but i wonder the ones used in toys never last like them China Bootleg handbags.

The new one looks a better quality than that old shiny, crinkly looking one.

But I know what you mean!


The description says "Leather", and if that's in line with every mention of "Metal", then maybe it is the real deal?

You should have been more specific like Genuine Real Leather.

But for that price they oughta be kicked if they don't. If a $10 wallet can use Real Leather I'm sure a $260 figure can too.

Use to watch this show on Action Theater on channel 9 in L.A. in the 60's. Loved Rocketman. Been wanting this figure for years now. I made an unhelmeted rocket-less custom of Rocketman, with this hat and mask. Now I can add this one too.

Yes, in the sense that The Rocketeer was inspired by saturday matinee serial characters like Commando Cody.

Anyone know if there are any UK stockists of Go Hero?

Yeah, ER will have it up for P.O. as well. I heard GH may it up for PO as soon as tomorrow

Also, for now it's called George Wallace as Rocketman but that may change by the time we see this figure released (if all goes well 4th Qtr 2014)... anyway we may still see it called Commando Cody.

Lastly if anyone's wondering what took so long (09-now) ... I heard a big part of it was finding the right factory in China.

Keep read about the price, but if you figure what it would cost if you were to have just these parts custom made. (As I was trying to do in plastic) Guy never got back to me. But now I can get The whole figure for about the same cost.

The preview looks great! I wasn't interested in this until now.
I might buy this if it looks as good in hand, I was very disappointed with their Perseus figure.
