Godzilla Collectibles Thread

Anybody else think jakks recalled it's godzilla toys? No one can seem to find them in stores and it looks like sound was supposed to come out of it. Makes me think they weren't ready for release.

Well, Entertainment Earth sent me an email advertising it but they are not in stock. TRU is sold out online. And they've been selling like crazy at the TRU stores too. Maybe, they are just out of stock right now and need to get a second shipment. I know I heard that the Jakks piece was supposed to be exclusive to TRU until late April or early May. But anything is possible.

ello fellow big g fans. i stalk this thread.. alot. and its obvious all your knowledge of godizlla puts mine to shame. so im here with a question what movie design is this based on? got in in a local hobby shop when i was really young, mum painted the eyes for me! it came assembled and painted but sans eye paint. hollow vinyl. would love to know what film the design is from.

At this point, SH Monsterarts and Sideshow are the only figural collectibles no seen, and NECA 24" HTT painted should be shown off in about 4 weeks according to Randy.

ok another zilla question, workin a design. what color is he in new movie? like a dark greenish/grey yeah? looking at pics it seem to vary.

Dont think thats been confirmed yet. But it looks like dark gray or brown.

Hard to say, the merchandise and movie shots vary. The little Bandai figure I have is like really dark, almost black, brown with a lighter brown chest and abdomen, which NECA seems to have gone with as well. The larger Bandai figures seem like shades of grey, JAKKS seems closer to grey than brown with a light brown chest and abdomen. The movie shots really don't give a good idea of his color, all the posters have color tinting and there's been no clear daylight shots of him really. I think he's a dark brown, muted enough it can seem grey. I've heard that the original '54 suit was brown but because all photos and video from the time were black and white we can't tell, so if true, making him brown would be faithful to that origin. For what it's worth the mobile game seems to favor brown too.

thanks again!

im coloring design and keep goin back and forth as i see a new pic of the toys or still from the trailer. looking forward to gettin a neca ver, artic look good. will most likely get a jakks ver in the meantime, especially after seeing the movie. slowly getting more and more excited to see it.

It'll be hard to tell his color in the movie, so far from what I've heard, only one scene will feature him clearly in daylight. Hopefully we'll get lots of cool promo images between now and release.

I wonder which member on this thread will be the first to modify the 40 inch godzilla to have a sound effect box built in.And who ever does it I will gladly pay commission to get it done on mine.
