The show needs more classical music with an orchestra, like the films and the animated series. Also, am I the only one who thinks Catwoman looks like an adult woman in a tiny body. She's the same age as the kid playing Bruce Wayne, but looks a lot older. It's kind of creepy

Liking the show, but they need to tone down the camp immediately. A little too hammy at the moment. Love the sets, and look. Catwoman is good. Bruce is great. Alfred is super uptight and kinda hostile in this version.

Thought this was a good episode and an improvement over last week. I like that we're getting lots of villain references but I'd like to see more original villains as well.

I like how much of a psycho they've made penguin. Or at least how vicious he is.

I like the camp, but some of the overacting is painful. Bruce and Selina stand out as characters because the kids playing them are two of the best actors on the show. They made the two villains look like dropouts from a junior high drama camp.

Alfred is super uptight and kinda hostile in this version.

I think it's cool that they made him clueless as to how to raise a child.

It's definitely awkward, but it makes sense to me. He gets upset because he's under a huge amount of pressure due to his love for the Waynes.

As a Batman fan, I really loved this episode. It's not a perfect show, by any means, but it seems like they have genuine affection for the mythos, even though this is a different take. The villains and the plot of this episode almost seemed like one giant homage to the Animated Series episode "Cat scratch fever." Whether or not that was intentional, I don't know, but you replace cats with kids, and Batman with Gordon, and it's pretty much the same deal. I also got a kick out of the "I told you not to creep up on people! It's bloody rude!" thing with Bruce. I agree that Alfred seems a little too stern, but it seems kind of like they're infusing a bit of the Earth One "Royal Marine" butler/bodyguard characterization.

What time period is this set in? Gotham seems to be cut off from the rest of the world cause Penguin being picked up in that SUV totally threw me, seemed out of place unless I've got the time period wrong

I thought episode 2 was better than 1: the acting seemed stronger and the story more focused. I don't mind Alfred's handling of Bruce as I imagine he will eventually better balance between the caregiver and the drill sergeant as he adjusts to his role. The couple working for the Dollmaker were idiots but I assumed that was by design. I continue to enjoy Falcone and the organized crime angle and am looking forward to Sal Maroni...

Both actors are good, but you would not know it from the episode....they were embarassing

That could change with time. Both he and Bruce are having to make adjustments. A single man suddenly becoming a father of young teen. I'm sure it's hard.

I guess I am just so used to seeing Alfred as Mr. Stoic that its weird to see him as a normal guy trying to raise a kid in that kind of situation.

If you are referring to Jim Gordon's girlfriend named Barbara, they probably end up getting married and have a daughter who ends up with same name. Or maybe Jim's wife gets killed off and daughter named Barbara in honor of her. And you know Gordon's daughter eventually becomes Batgirl.

Could she be Catwoman?

I saw this in response to the above post. Again if you were referring to Barbara, she's the same age as Jim Gordon first of all so she couldn't be Catwoman. She would be the 15 year old homeless girl.

Just watched the first 2 episodes.
Not bad.
I enjoyed Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock & Ben Mckenzie as a young Detective James Gordon.
I didn't like Jada Smith though,God she can't act!
I hope FOX gives the series a chance.

I just watched the first two episodes of GOTHAM on my DVR. I think the show has potential.
The great : Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock,Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Coppelpot(My favorite character) & Camren Bicondova as a young Selina Kyle.
The good : Ben Mckenzie as a young Detective James Gordon.
The bad : Jada Pinket Smith as Fish Mooney...her acting is awful!
I'll give this season a chance and see how it shapes up!
