Yeah I'm upset. But then again, this is comics. I think if fans complain enough he'll be back. I'm so torn about the whole kill/resurrect thing in comics. On one hand, I like disruptions to the status quo. Makes it feel like there's no 'reset' button. On the other, comic deaths feel cheap and as someone just said (I think the Mike?) a means to an end and a cheap plot device.

Guy has been interesting especially with his mentorship ironically with Kyle and relationship with Ice. Kyle has been molested left and right but the GL that has been most "wronged" is John. He went from second rate GL in the books to the limelight when they decided to use him for the JL cartoons to basically forgotten and being an afterthought at this point. If they killed John Stewart you'd have very few fans who could actually say that he hasn't had it coming for a while, which is sad because there is a lot of potential with him.

I'm interested to see if Kyle is resurrected as a Black Lantern especially since there are a ton of rings floating around after the Lantern explosion

Oh, good point Mike. Now that you mention it, it would seem like plot whole if that didn't happen. Others that have died in the story so far have almost immediatley become Black Lanterns. The Hawks come to mind.

I completely agree with this sentiment. I've always liked Kyle, and it's been a damn shame to see what became of his GL career. Although to be completely honest I knew it was only a matter of time before they offed him as soon as I heard Hal was coming back years ago. I would have rather seen Kyle go out way earlier than he did, it seems like a shame to keep him around so long just to kill him now.

Ditto! :lecture

I think it is just because we wanted to give people a chance to read this week's GL Corp issue before we start fully talking about the major ending to it. Some of you seem to like to wait till the weekend to read your comics :dunno

There has been nothing said that there won't be a White Lantern or a White Lantern Corps. In San Diego the answer was, "It won't be what you think."

Which is a semi-acknowledgement that there will be something along those lines... it just won't be what most people think it is. The White Light was referred to as "The White Light of Creation" in Blackest Night 3 so my thought is that something, a new entity or a creature will be created to battle the Black Lanterns instead of someone simply putting on a ring or going the Captain Planet route and being created from all emotional spectrums.
