so anyone given any thought on how to display these? I'll probably end up getting the JLA trophy room GL rings piece but these will do fine as stand-ins till then.

I would avoid the JLA Trophy Room Rings for now. The whole "White Lantern" debate is still raging with Johns really being coy with what will happen or if another ring no matter the color will arise. If that is the case can you imagine how pissed people will be buying this set with 8 rings when there are supposed to be 9? I have a feeling if there is another ring in any shape or form, DCD will do a Green Lantern Spectrum Ring set soon after and include it. That is what they did with Hal's power battery. Plastic = Green Lantern Brand, Metal = JLA Brand. They aren't exactly above it.

The Green will be the Rebirth design instead of the standard so it'll be different than the rings they were handing out not too long ago at Cons.

Wow, looks like Blackest Night will be collected into seven trades when all is said and done. That's a whole lot of reading! I'm wondering how the Absolute Edition will be put together given the scope of the story and the huge amount of issues it took to tell. Vol. 1 and 2 maybe?

Yeah I think that after the 8 main BN books are finished I"m done with the monthly reading and I'm just going to wait for the eventual Absolute release. The $$$ is starting to pile up and I'm gonna buy the Absolute regardless.

These spin off books are not as good as the main story---Rings are cool to have though.

The Batman and Superman books were great IMO, its just the others that sucked.

If not for the rings I would not be buying stuff like Booster Gold, REBELS, outsiders. etc.etc

I'm buying the 3 issue mini's that I think are relevant as these deal with BN directly as where the others deal with the consequences of BN. This is the same reason, I think that those individual issues are not being collected.

- Blackest Night: Black Lantern Corps Vol. 1 - the Blackest Night Batman, Superman, and Titans miniseries

- Blackest Night: Black Lantern Corps Vol. 2 - the Blackest Night JSA, Flash, and Wonder Woman miniseries

- Blackest Night: Rise of the Black Lanterns - the eight "resurrected" titles

- Blackest Night: Tales of the Corps Vol. 1 - the three-issue miniseries

That's right all 7 will be needed. Now the tie-ins from things like Booster Gold will be kept within its own trades which means those who are chasing them will have to get those as well.

Wow! Do NOT miss Blackest Night 5! BL Batman! Very briefly is all though. The ending is killer! Literally.

And read GL first as it takes place before BN5.
