It's slightly concerning the lack of updates and production photos of this from SS... I have the EX on order and would have thought something would have been posted by now

Sideshow usually doesn't post production pictures until it ships. And they don't typically update buyers with new pictures or details ever. The most you get is a delay notice. So I wouldn't be concerned. Typical Sideshow procedure.

No matter how the base turns out, the statue itself turned out great. The face sculpt is superb, another SS win.

Imo it adds a bit of depth.

Oh, the base doesn't light up, pity, and the ring? Ok, I ask too much, I have the original EX so can't complain this one that I ordered.

that attempt at a light up effect on the ring is horrible in my view. sigh. I really thought they would give us more after Igo's announcement.

I was thinking that the surprise was that they used translucent resin for the head. They also may have listened to feedback and darkened the colour of the green construct on the base a tad (at least to my eyes).

The base looks slightly darker, or maybe more detailing done to it to avoid the bland slim color. I'm a bit disappointed because I really wanted a translucent base. I thought the base on the original pf was perfect in that dark green translucent look

This is from Alex regarding the changes:

The color scheme for the forming stair construct was changed for the final production pieces. His portrait has been casted in a more translucent material to give him a more natural skin tone. I saw a sample recently and the base color and portrait (as well as the rest of him) look pretty darn awesome! I'm hoping customers that receive him will be very happy! Updated photos of the Green Lantern Premium Format Figure will be posted around mid-October.

Thank you for explaining. I myself don't see it through pics, I mean he looks great but I wouldn't correlate it to a different translucent resin they were using if that makes sense?
