I would think if it hits $60 million getting another would happen for sure. They did a good job with the origins part now they can go full out with a battle between Hal and Sinestro. Should do even better than the first one I'd think.

I'd ____ a power battery if the sequel had a Sinestro Corps War storyline! :rock

The fun thing about GL is that because he was a B-Lister for so long they haven't ____ed with his origins too much, if you read Emerald Dawn I and then Secret Origins you'll see how little they've change and how it's just been more modernized over the decades.

they should have him fight sinestro in #2 and have him send out the yellow rings at the end to set up #3

Given that there isn't even a sequel let alone a third guaranteed I would go a modified SCW for the sequel. Have Sinestro recruit, decide that the Guardians aren't up to snuff with dealing with the issues of the universe (they seemed a bit removed in the first one) and have him go after Hal who would be in his mind the only real threat to him. The modern Sinestro is less villain and more "whatever it takes to get it done" and looks at his Corp to replace the GLC in all reality. The GLC would have to come together and go against the SC and you could even say that the need would be dire enough to enlist another Earth Lantern to help.

Then with a third I would use the Red Lanterns. They are natural foes of both the Sinestro Corps and the Green Lantern Corps and it would force Hal and Sinestro to work together to overcome which would be an interesting dynamic. The Rage of the Red Lanterns was a great read and would make an interesting film.

Any rumor of a directors cut yet for the bluray, is there any footage known to have been cut. I know I know, it just started this weekend :lol

There is a ton that was rumored to have been filmed but nothing concrete. Campbell did mention that there is some Hammond stuff filmed that was cut at the last minute so there is probably a few scenes already prepped for the DVD.

Saw it today... Not a bad movie, but still very average. It had some great moments.I dont think they'll ever do a sequel.Very few people were in the cinema.

How on earth did Sinestro keep his Green Lantern outfit on AFTER he took the ring off to put on the yellow one lol?

:) your not allowed to have an opinion that you didnt like the movie! Some liked it,but overall MANY did not! Few people here on the chat boards do not determine if the film was a success.Oviously Film critics felt otherwise and they are mostly right. It wasn't that good! But its ok if you enjoyed it too
Dude several people here have said they don't like the movie and given they're reasons, no one had a problem with it so you can stop acting so butt-hurt allright?

By the way critics will not determine if this movie is successful look at the Resident Evil films critics hate them but they've all been box-office successes.

the fact is that they are successful despite the negativity they get from fans of the games and critics.

Funny thing is i also loved Mortal Kombat which was directed by the same guy as RE and I'm a fan of MK too.

and Resident Evil Afterlife debuted in December dude hardly end of Summer. :p

saw it at the local theater this afternoon, my son enjoyed it but of course he'd enjoy anything or anyone playing a super hero. myself on the other hand found it to be entertaining but wouldn't need to see it again until it becomes available for DL.

cool CGI and decent acting, but like any origins type first movie, like Thor, i find they spend way to much time explaining everything when the movie could be better served.
of course it that would've been the case then the critics would slam it for not explaining to the dense movie goers how he came to be. sometimes you can't win.:dunno
