The 3D parts were alright but not make or break. The Oa sequences were nice especially the opening but it isn't really "enhanced" by 3D.

Believe it or not it was cheaper than having the suit designed and then having a ton made for backups.

I would guess that the mo-cap suit saved lots of time as well. Practical suits, which in cases like this are really more like prosthetic makeup, can be time consuming to keep looking ideal for the camera. Normal wear and tear, incidental damage, hot lights, bathroom breaks...it adds up. Not to mention the frequent, painful erections when Blake Lively does this -

Would you suggest shelling out the extra green (hehe) for the 3D or just stick with the 2D again, Mike?

If you haven't seen it in 3D the Oa sequences are worth it IMHO, I've seen it twice both in 3D but it isn't a dealbreaker.

I dunno about Mike but I enjoyed the 3d more than the 2d. That's my 2 cents.

I never saw it in 2D, although I think my next time might be, but I did enjoy what was in 3D as well.

Can you use a Shakira defense for Lively? This gets the point across I'm sure. :lol

I know lantern rocks. Thus far I prefer Hal as GL. What is your take on the other lanterns? Other good reads from other Lanterns standpoint? BTW, I may be in the minority but I love the suit, mask not so much......

John is meh. Guy is overrated IMHO but he has his moments especially in Emerald Warriors, which I actually really liked, I'm sorry it's gone. I love Kyle mainly because he is the every man GL, he wasn't specifically chosen but given the ring by Ganthet and many people feel that it's the same idea as if anyone off the street was chosen. The idea of overcoming fear came from him. He was GL for 10 years before being thrown to third banana so now it's hit and miss.

As for the other Corps, I love Larfleeze, The Red Lanterns are okay in small doses, Yellow rocks, Blue has worn thin, Indigo is a huge let down, Star Sapphires are fairly meh beyond Carol, I like the idea of Black more than the execution same with White.

I should look for Kyle story lines as well then....cool thanks.

How the ____ is it putting things into context comparing movies released decades apart without adjusting for inflation? Using the rough calculation here, Batman Forever made about $73 million in its opening weekend in 2010 dollars. They do talk about the "price tags" as an afterthought, but it's silly and misleading to even publish the sentence "Green Lantern had a bigger opening this weekend than any of the Superman films and four of the big Batman films."

I don't know too too much about GLs, admittedly, but Guy was freaking awesome in JLI. Easily cooler than any other Rainbow Lantern character ever made.

Mike how is the film doing in the other markets?

It only released in a handful of countries and pulled $17 Million. Not great but not bad, it's viewed so far as a mid-level film so far. It hits the majority of the markets including the rest of Europe and Asia throughout August so that'll be the real test.

My wife just asked what is all the commotion over GL's Domestic Box Office (she read it on Yahoo) because it was # 1 for this weekend, isn't # 1 the goal she asked.

I told her to call the president of WB/DC and congratulate them for their success. :lol

:lol

Interestingly enough $70 Million was the magic number. Domestically it fell short but combined International/Domestic for opening weekend it hit it. So who knows what DC/WB is planning on doing with this. This weeks drop is really gonna count. I like Cars alright but have no plans to see Cars 2, I might talk the wife into seeing this again.

Let me know how it goes.....I've been working on my delivery since Saturday. :lol

It's comforting knowing your fellow inmates are just a keyboard away. :hi5:

No not yet. I'll probably pick it up soon.

Off topic, but did you get the Thor video game? I heard it got horrible reviews, but never really followed up on it.

The GL looks really good to me though. (But then again, so did Thor, IMO. :()
