Thank you Buttmunch for giving me a little more hope for GL. I hope it is indeed as you say and I'm a huge GL fan (Hell, GL and GL Corps have been the best two comics DC has put out in the last several years) so we'll see.

I really do feel GL fans will enjoy this more than non-GL fans. I think GL is one of those characters that you either get it and like it or don't get it/don't like it. Don't expect the next Dark Knight, but you should enjoy it nonetheless.

At the 12:01 AM showing killing time. This place is packed only seven seats available in the front with green shirts and 3D glasses everywhere. I'm getting pretty psyched.

just got back.

2nd act is slow and a couple scenes didn't work for me but overall I was pleasantly surprised and don't think it is deserving at all of the early negative reviews. no X3, FF or wolverine dud here. much fun was had and mark strong especially was a joy to watch. :clap

Couldn't have said it better myself.:goodpost: To be honest, I liked it better than Thor.

That's pretty much how I felt.

I'm not a Green Lantern connoisseur. I don't know the complexity of all of the characters, the history, etc. etc.

I went in there, took the movie for face value, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked it better than Thor. I loved Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan. I've always like him in most all of his roles, and this is no exception. He has that charisma about him, that you can't help but love.

I don't care how true it was to the comics books, blah, blah, blah. I enjoyed myself. Great action. A true summer flick. Two thumbs up.

My only complaint: I wish there was more!

Just got back from the midnight screening and I loved it! I thought Ryan was Hal and actually enjoyed Blake Lively as Carol. Much better than I had anticipated. Still, Mark Strong as Sinestro was a thing of brilliance. To me this is a movie that like Buttmunch said, you will get it/like it or not. It's not without its flaws, but as a GL fan I really came away happy and can't wait to see it again.

P.S. - The scene part way through the credits gave me goosebumps. Truly worth staying for!

I was waiting for that. When the movie ended, I thought well that sucks. I wish I had seen something about @@%#$#$^$.....

And then halfway through the credits, BAM!!! So glad I stayed. A BUNCH of fanboys left before that had aired. Surprised me that they wouldn't wait. I didn't really read an spoilers about this, so I didn't know they were going to have that. A pleasant surprise.

So happy I didn't read the spoilers about it either, very rewarding....especially for GL fans.

The helicopter scene with Hal creating the race track was a thing of beauty as well as Sinestro with the yellow ring and suit.

My biggest issue was the editing and shortness of the film. Could have benefited with about 20 more minutes to help develop the characters and such. Still, wasn't a dull moment throughout it for me personally.

I really liked:

1.) The training scene with Hal, Kilowog, and Sinestro. (On a side note: Did anyone think there was a Capt. America reference when Sinestro threw the round shield?!?! j/k)

2.) The end battle with Paralax, fighting in the streets, then speaking the Oath as Paralax is telling Hal he can't win. LOVED that part. That whole battle I loved.

As for that mid-credit scene, I only wish that HT would've made figures earlier because that would've been a Comic-Con exclusive worth waiting for.

I bet we'll get one of those for the sequel.;) If DC really want to link the Superhero films, they should use Amanda Waller.
