See the thing is I am not defensive of it, because I don't own it. I am just saying that you have made your point, ant you have been making it over and over again. You don't like it, and yeah haven't you really said everything you had to say. I am just saying I don't get the need to slam this at this point. I am sorry I just don't. It is in people's hands and they are proud of it. Why not just let it drop?? That is what I am getting at. No melodrama, just the logic of letting those who enjoy this enjoy it. That is all I am getting at.

I don't get it either, man. I don't understand what some people's goal is by incessantly ripping on a piece.

So, SolidLiquidFox, are you trying to tell me that you don't like this GL PF?

I mean, I didn't get that the last 3000 times you pointed that out.

My issues with people constantly ripping on the GL piece are twofold:

1. The scale factor...yes, we know GL is undersized. He's more like a 1/4.3 piece based on my rough measurements. We get it. This is a fact, we all know it, move on.

2. When people (not saying SLF does this, but many people do) rip on other collectors for actually liking the piece, accusing them of drinking the SS Kool-Aid or letting SS dictate what they buy and crap like that. That type of BS can GTFO, as far as I'm concerned.

If you want to discuss the pose, the muscle definition, whether or not you think it looks good with whatever other piece, that's fine...I think that's what the forum is for.

I'm not defending the piece in trying to say that it is the perfect GL piece, in no way should SS ever revisit the character because this GL is the pinnacle of sculpture, or that he undeniably looks perfect with Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman. So, don't try to put words in my mouth.

Man I'm OCD as hell, but I'm so glad I'm not a completest. It leads to so much gossip on here. I'm always open to different kinds of sizes and types of statues, but I always choose quality first.

If I had a problem-free Superman PF and problem-free Wonder Woman PF right now, and someone was gonna give away a choice of a current Batman PF EX or a current Green Lantern PF EX for free...I'd choose the Green Lantern EX any day of the week.

Regardless of height, girth, size, or whatever, GL is the better statue. He came out looking like he was supposed to.

A statue shouldn't have to be defended this hard. That in itself tells you all something. Regardless of personal preference or what not.

If the GL PF was in the same league as the Bats, Supes or WW this disagreement would not exist. Period. A GL PF statue with a light up feature? and it sold how many compared to a character like Harley Quinn? This is Green Lantern, right? People are so split on this whole issue so this is obviously not the clear definitive GL statue. It's a good statue for what it is, but for me not the one to pair up with an ultimate JLA set up.

Enjoy your GL PF guys.

Those who bought it certainly aren't split. I've even heard of skeptics converting at the sight of it. For now and the near future, this IS the definitive Green Lantern statue. And that praise is well-earned as far as I'm concerned.

Coming from a guy whose icon is the Batman, I think your word needs to be given serious weight! I own both statues and I'm in agreement. I'm more irked by Batman's oversize, and the execution of the fabric and painting of the portraits didn't live up to expectation.

Agree Sideshows GL is epic, Good edition size, amazing EX great light up feature its meant to be with Sinestro to make an awesome display! The fact that it goes for more than double of retail shows how much people who appreciate it want it simple!

Love Mine!

GL is my second favourite DC character after batman and when I saw the GL unveiled at SDCC, I thought "wtf is this? Why is he so super ripped and toned? Why is the green all shiny and the black not matte? What kinda pose is that?" I had no interest in him. I didn't even do my typical preorder and then cancel with second thoughts. Then my buddies got me him for Christmas this year (probably one of the very last ones in stock) and I love him. Even next to Batman I wouldn't dare move him.

Harley and Ivy's large es is due to their mainstream popularity and the fact that more people are gonna collect Batman characters. I think the majority would agree that the Sinestro pf is an amazing sculpt but his es is way lower than Harley and Ivy when in fact he is one of the top DC villains to comic readers. Harley's ex is higher than Sinestro's total es. That tells you enough about who collects these things.

everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to suggest GL is better than batman is nuts, in my opinion :cuckoo:

(for the record I own batman and have seen GL in person at my LCS)

Batman is surely awesome (I own the ex on both pieces). But, regardless of which one you like better (everyone will feel differently), you have to admit that from a pure objective quality point of view, there is an argument to be made for GL.

Aside from the size issue, the GL PF came out looking almost exactly like the proto.

Batman...well, I don't remember seeing saggy pits in the proto pics. Several changes were made between the proto and the production piece (for better or worse is up to you to decide).

For the record, I love, love, love both pieces (I've performed pit surgery on my bats, and he is glorious)...each for different reasons.

:exactly:... Some like oranges, some like apples... Just differ opinions and taste... There is no right or wrong on people's eyes :dunno

I will be getting a reg Green Lantern here soon from a fellow freak for under retail shipped! I'm so excited for this piece! :D I personally think it is silly that people are so peeved about this issue and automatically point to GL, Batman was obviously made a beefier and bigger premium format. I would say closer to a 1/3.8 size (musculature wise) . So what? Enjoy the pieces for what they are. (Works of art) As Bmutha and a few others have pointed out the sizing issue is not off by that much and if anything it is skewed with Batman more so. Part of that reason is because Batman, Superman, and WW are part of the big Trinity and where made that way on purpose. On another forum Alex from SSC stated that they were rated in tiers and the A-listers were going to be bigger than the B-listers and so forth. If Aquaman and Flash get released they should fit perfectly with GL.
Just my newbie two cents. :D

In terms of coming closer to the proto, I agree, GL wins in that regard.

What happens if when Flash and Aquaman are released they don't "match" the big three either?

From the concept sketches shown they don't appear like they will.

I probably won't care that much, as long as the sculpt/paint/material is good, I'll get both of those characters.

You are right. However, I'll choose to look on the bright side. They'll match up well with my GL PF. As I have said before, I can't see many of us having the room to line up the Big 7 on the same shelf. Most of us will have to display these pieces on separate shelves. I personally will have the Trinity displayed together and will have the other members on different shelves. I will match the other characters together based on scale. I'm hoping GL is close enough in scale to Flash. I plan on displaying them together. If not, I'll see how he looks next to Green Arrow whenever SSC gets around to releasing him. I'll find a way to make it work so long as the upcoming JLA PFs look good. If SSC releases a few duds in the remaing JLA lineup, I may just sell of my EX GL PF and stick to the Trinity. I'm keeping all of my options open. Funds and space force me to do so but that'll never change the way I feel about the GL PF. I still think it's a great PF.

I think the probability of Flash and Aquaman matching more with GL is much higher than them matching with the big three.

So my question is are those that don't like GL because he doesn't match up going to be demanding that Flash and Aquaman get revisits as well? lol

Of course, you know that will happen. In defense of some members here, some of them just don't like the GL PF based on how it looks. The pose, the muscle definition, and the shiny paint apps are some of the reasons they passed on the GL PF. Obviously they just want a differnt type of GL statue (museum pose, and maybe a mixed media costume). That's completely understandable. Scale is another issue entirely. Anyone who thinks the rest of the JLA members that will be released will match the scale of the Trinity is deluding themselves. SSC Reps have already said that the Trinity is in a different tier and will be larger than future JLA members yet to be released. Even if SSC didn't release that info, we know from experience that SSC's lineups all suffer from inconsistent scale issues. That's not a problem that's going away anytime soon. As a collector of SSC merch, I just try to make the best of it by matching statues that are closer in scale next to each another. The only real reason I'll pass on a PF of a character I really like is if I just don't like the way it looks. That's when I just hope that SSC will revisit the character somewhere down the line.

They'll be 1/4 scale, just not with huge bases as the trinity

:exactly: SS lists most pieces as "approximately 1/4 scale", don't they? All pieces will vary slightly.

I think Igo was talking about how high their bases were going to be, filip, not the scale. You now, a tiered display with the Trinity up there and the rest (GL, MM, Flash, Aquaman?) being on a lower level just because their bases will not be as huge. I even gathered further JLA members would be even lower than that.
