Man Im still hooked on this game and according to stats im 50% done.
What I do get a little bored about is when all you do is drive from one waypoint to another and thats it. Outrunning the cops or doing chase sequences that involve shooting while driving is fun though.
Thankfully you get to use taxi's for the other driving parts, I think I spent a fortune on cab rides... Tried using subways , but them trains sometimes take forever to come.

The shooting missions are a blast! best one so far has been the bank hiest...

Your wrong Kit face it as was I when I said I find the game boring. I got a 10 for gods sake it must loved by all. Don't forget people don't buy the game because of the violence either.

With that said I gave it more of try last night and it just gets boring after a few hours. It just seems like to much of the same over and over.

I can understand why some feel it's overrated as it is pretty much more of the same,but I never really expected anything else from the first next gen GTA so I'm OK with it.

I can't help but wonder if all these "perfect 10's" that get handed out arbatrailraly are not the video game equivilant of a "superfan" nerdblanking ll over his personal favorite series. Now don't get me wrong, I like the GTA series, but sometimes I wonder about that, you know?
That said, I'll reserve my judgement for when i get my copy in a few weeks.

considering prior to GTA IV, last GTA i played was when GTA III was on PS2 back several yrs ago... skipped GTA SA and VC... IV is a pretty cool game.

in one mission, i actually got the po-po to help me outrun some mofo's

I think that's a more reasonable sort of score. GTA IV is not perfect but I do think it's better than some of the other recent games that were hyped to a similar degree like Assassin's Creed.

NEW YORK - Video-game publisher Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. said Wednesday that sales of its popular and eagerly anticipated title "Grand Theft Auto IV" reached more than $500 million in its first week of availability.


The company said it has sold more than 6 million units globally since the game was released April 29.

The New York-based company said it sold 3.6 million units on its opening day alone, worth a retail value of $310 million worldwide.

"Grand Theft Auto IV" follows the criminal exploits of protagonist Niko Bellic, an immigrant-turned-gangster who travels from Eastern Europe to Liberty City, the game's fictional locale based on New York City. As Bellic, players can hijack cars, earn cash for criminal activities, shoot innocent bystanders and visit strip clubs.

Critics say the extreme violence in "Grand Theft Auto" video games could be harmful to children, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving has complained that the latest version includes the ability to drive while intoxicated.

I went and finished every other GTA completely...

There's not much new here...

Graphics don't interest me and aren't exactly a new feature...

The missions seem kind of samey...

And I've played all of the fun missions...

I'll probably be trading this in, in just a few days...
