Saw GotG again this weekend. Re watch value is great on it. Not as high as avengers, but still up there in re-watch quality.

We took mom to see it today. She enjoyed it quite a bit and I think my dad has a crush on Groot. :lol

Isn't it obvious that they were searching for it? Quill found it 1st.

I don't think that was the planet the eternal used it on, it was just a random planet where it was hidden.
It wasn't obvious to me, obviously. Some coincidence if two groups independently ended up in the same place at the precise same time to discover it. I thought it might be that planet with the Eternal, because Quill's device showed all these phantom images of a formerly thriving planet that was no more.

I see what you mean, but the stone could do that to any planet, I think was a random planet that they needed to find and Quill it just happens that Quill beat Ronan to it, because if everybody knew where the stone was, then it makes no sense that Ronan didn't get it earlier :lol

So, suspension of disbelief on my part I guess.

Loved it. I wouldn't say rewatch value is lower than Avengers, but that's just me; the second time around, Avengers felt like a chore. Enough happens in this film that I feel like I can pick up more things each time.

I'd never read the comics but I really enjoyed the movie. Definitely doesn't take itself too seriously, and is even unabashedly silly in parts, but a really enjoyable movie.

Groot impressed me. Went in thinking he was going to be a side character eating up screen time from the better characters and he literally stole many scenes. Great characterization, loved him as both the enforcer and Rockets voice of reason.
