Re: Guardians of the Galaxy discussion thread.

James Gunn Talks Guardians of the Galaxy | Superhero Hype
He talks about comparisons to Star Wars, Rocket Racoon and Chris Pratt.

Though he gave a coy reply, Gunn seemingly confirmed Zoe Saldana's involvement in the film in the interview - she was reported to be in talks for the role of Gamora a few weeks ago. He also mentions that we will be finding out who will fill the role of Rocket Raccoon in the coming weeks and that cameras will roll on "Guardians" starting in June.

Can't wait to see who they get for RR.

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy discussion thread.

Michael Rooker is in this too! I loved his arrogant character in the Walking Dead! I'm getting more and more interested in this as the weeks go on. :yess:

It's not a James Gunn film without Michael Rooker. And thank god too. Anything Michael Rooker is like chocolate for the eyes.

Loving the casting so far! Lee Pace is set for a break out role. Hopefully this is it.

Lee Pace has won the villain role in Marvel Studio's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, The Wrap reports. His role has not yet been disclosed, but he'll join Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker and Ophelia Lovibond in the James Gunn film.

The film, based on the Marvel comic books of the same name, features an unlikely cast of characters who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions.

While there's no confirmation as of yet, there's a good chance that Pace's role is that of Taneleer Tivan, AKA The Collector. In the comics, Tivan learned about the threat Thanos posed to the universe and sought to collect life forms and worlds to place in a museum of sorts, ideally protecting them from Thanos' path of destruction. The character was recently said to be involved in the storyline.

But did he quit? Pretty sure he just got the shrapnel out of his chest...I do recall he did say "I am Iron Man".

The ending felt very much like he had moved on from being iron man to focus on living a more mormal life. Him saying i am iron man felt more like he's saying that He, Tony Stark, is Iron Man without the suit. I think he's retired and he'll come out of it half way through avengers 2

The whole idea of the movie was the notion of does the suit make the man or does the man make the suit? And Stark said it himself, the suit is a cocoon and that he is Iron Man no matter the armor. Remember when the kid only knew that the suit was Iron Man and he didn't know Tony was Tony? It's a deeper movie than it seems.

yeah the theme was all about Tony being able to keep up in a world of aliens and gods and prove he's strong without the armour. Sadly the comedy contradicted this. That should've been toned down, alot

Call me crazy.I have very little desire to see this movie, I must be old time Marvel
