That is a beautiful piece there. I had my chance to get a DD but didn't have the money for it. Hopefully I can get one later on.

black PMags in stock at MidwayUSA! limit of 2. go! go! go!

Thanks! Did they just go instock today? Sucks because my back order for the 20rds mags came instock on the 19th and I just got them yesterday. If they arrived the same time I could of saved on shipping. Oh we'll, still beats the price people are still selling it for. Thanks for the heads up.

Here it is Daniel Defense DDm4 LW Mid-length 16", Geissel Trigger, chrome bolt carrier.

How do you like the Geiselle trigger? I have the Super Scar trigger, and was thinking about getting one for my AR.

Have not shot it yet, still waiting on my front sight..:thud: I can go shoot it, but I would rather just wait for the sight to get here early next week. Dry shooting, it seems fine. Some more Take-up for the first stage, but second stage is non existent for take up. Once the first stage is over, then you know it will fire on the next pressure. Not like some where you will still get some creep.

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure the administration would frown upon selling gun parts on there.

My local gs have tons of various pmags but the don't ship(locals only), my biggest problem is finding 357 mag and 9mm rounds.

couple of questions for the forum:

1. Why are 1911's so popular and what would be considered the good to great brands?

2. Anyone fire or own a XDS .45? I keep seeing them for around $500 in my area and had been considering getting one a few months back, but ended up on the fence when I heard the XDS 9mm would be coming out. Now I'm wondering if I should jump on the .45 since I can get it at a good price.

The 1911 has withstood the test of time as a dependable pistol. It was the original automatic pistol and some are nostalgic to that as well as knowing that the design is one of the best that has ever been created for pistols.

The normal suspects are some of the best. Colt, Springfield, and Smith & Wesson.

Kimber may (arguably) be the best 1911 on the market (and it hurts to say that as a Colt lover).

In the end...it is rare to find a bad 1911. It is a fairly safe purchase no matter what manufacturer you chose.

Edit - Sorry, I have no experience with XDS .45.

In my area I have seen Taurus for $300ish, RIA about the same, Springfield $500-700, SIG $900, and Kimber $1000. Is it really worth the $700 extra to go from a Taurus to a Kimber?

Very well put.

I've heard mixed review on the Kimber. I've heard it rusts easy among other complaints, but then I've heard great things about the Kimber. I've mostly heard negative things about the Springfield and that is VERY painful to say since I absolutely love Springfield. I just recently bought a Sig 1911 and absolutely love it. I'm in the process of selling my STI Spartan. Not because it shoots bad but because I decided to focus on one type of pistol so I can start competitive shoot. My suggestion would be to go out and shoot a few of the 1911s and see which one you click with. I can guarantee you that not one gun fits all. Like I said I've heard mixed reviews on a lot of different companies when it comes to 1911s. I know Kimber is a popular 1911 company but I've heard some bad. So go out and shoot a few and don't focus so much on the price. Although its hard to do. I paid $800+ for my Sig 1911.

As for the Springfield XDS .45 all the XDs work amazingly. I haven't had a problem with them and I've put a lot of rounds through mine. It fits my hand like a glove and plan on getting another for CCW.

Were they 30 round mags or 20?

they are 30rd mags. looks like they don't come with dust covers. no biggie. still a great price at $12.30!

Your prices sound off. Shop around a bit more. I got a Kimber Custom II for about $700 brand new at a gun show in Texas a few years back.

The Custom II is the more basic model ... the $1000+ versions are the higher-end ones (like the Custom TLE or the Eclipse). The only real difference is checkered frontstraps, accessory rails, and some color options ... otherwise they're basically the same weapon.
