Whelp, time to throw my Scream Factory box set out. This is the one, true, definitive, recapture the magic, not pretentious at all, sequel to Halloween .

Alright, alright, I admit...it does look pretty cool.

I hope Myers figures out he can be an efficient killer with an assault rifle instead of a silly knife that’s so 1970’s.

Kids trick or treating just spray away.

Laurie coming after you just let it rip with your index finger.

Even Laurie and her silly single shot reloader just get an AR-15 dummy.

Are there any sources to confirm that the license holder made the rights for a '78 Myers too expensive? I've been wanting an official 1:6 figure for a long time now, and it is strange that Sideshow, Hot Toys, ThreeZero and Blitzway haven't jumped at this. Is it because the original mask was of Shatner?

I don’t think it’s just expense, I think it’s also just coming to agreement, NECA’s been vocal that they’ve struggled to come to an agreement, I don’t think it’s just a matter of price. Back in the day they didn’t really license things based on the ‘78, McFarlane and NECA were stand outs, official masks were very generic looking, in the past few years, licenses have been being granted for the ‘78 and other official masks along with more collectibles based on the ‘78, I’m sure products will come, I’m betting that the new movie will spawn some things, hopefully the Three Zero license allows the ‘78 or ‘18. This is the 40th anniversary so here’s to hoping for big things.

Im not sure why this is getting all the love it is. Beyond the controvertial decision of flat out ignoring H2, it is even ignoring the end of H1. A moment which defined the series.

And none of it at all even looks at all like it takes place on Halloween.

Damn it doesn’t take place after Halloween 2? And I thought the xmen universe was hard to follow

I’m glad it doesn’t take place after Halloween 2, in an interview they said they didn’t like the use of curses and chasing after family that the sequels digressed into, so they’re going back to ‘78 only when he was just a force with no clear motivation.

But to a certain extent, they've done away with that it seems. How does one catch a "force"? The ending of Halloween was so perfect in a way. He's gone. It's gone. It can't be stopped. We'll see. I'm curious but wary.

I like the character of Michale Myers, and at the very least, this looks and feels like other Halloween movies and doesn’t seem like a colossal departure like RZs H2 was. I embrace H3 as part of the franchise even without Myers, but RZs H2 doesn’t exist to me.

John Carpenter✓
Jamie Lee Curtis✓
Nick Castle the Original OG MYERS✓✓

I'm usually a little skeptical when it comes to reboots , I have a feeling this is going to be a great film

people keep comparing this to H20 like if thast a bad thing.....
Excuse me everyone but when did h20 become a bad movie? did i miss something?

how is h20 a punching bag now? I have seen comments both in here and on youtube disregarding this movie and comparing it to h20 as if thats a bad thing...
h20 is probably the second best halloween sequel after Halloween 2...........
if anything the comparisons to H20 Should make this movie positive

The only Myers sequels I like are H2 and H4 tbh. Despite the terrible mask, H4 is underrated.

I like H20 alot also....except for the ending. Alot of it feels right to me, alot feels wrong.

Its a mixed bag , but for the most part its pretty good.

I also liked part 4.....everything else including RZ stuff was pretty bad.

i am not saying people need to love this trailer or be worried. anyone can hate it, Also this Obviously borrows from the plot of H20. thats very clear

But i am seeing so many comments going "this looks horrible, this sucks, this has the look of h20" or people saying "what a terrible trailer, this is gonna suck like H20 all over again"
i am baffled at the hate for H20 right now. not liking this trailer is one thing, but all the hate to H20.... what the hell is happening :lol

h20 had a lot of good to it, but suffered from coming out in the late 90s right around the same time as "Scream" so shared a lot of those unfortunate elements. Lighter atmosphere, focus on teenage drama that had nothing to do with the rest of the movie, little actual Halloween feeling, ect.

And this movie not only disrespects that, but it disrespects H2, and the very ending of the original. How can you even claim to respect the original if you pick and choose which elements of it you want to sweep under the rug. Why not just ignore Resurrection and go from there?

Other than the fact that it actually stars the same people, I don't get how anything here feels the same as the original. Nothing here even feels like it takes place on Halloween.

John Carpenter only had his hands on the original 78 Halloween .
now he has his hands on this one .
that's why I think it's going to be great. To be honest I only like Halloween 1&1 & Rob Zombie's original Halloween . all the other movies in my opinion sucked .....
poor designs, the masks, or horrible plot of the movies is awful.... it's just my opinion

but, out of all the sequels, in your opinion, where does h20 stack up? thats what i was wondering. i know H20 has flaws (LL cool J was one of the worst things about it) but compared to the other sequels, i think it did a lot right

Yea me too. Pretty much everything with Laurie was good. Pretty much everything with John's friends and LL Cool J wasn't.

Definitely among the better sequels, but to be honest I still prefer Halloween 2 and Halloween 4. 4 will always have a special place for me and IMO still holds up really well.
