I've only seen the first three Halloween movies and then whichever one that had Josh Hartnett it in so I'm hardly a hardcore fan nor do I really have a stake in this new film doing well but

I would not have wanted them to repeat the "Michael's face coming out of the darkness" gag. Repeating the falling out the window and then vanishing is fine because that's a common trope of pretty much all slasher movies but Myers' face in the darkness is arguably one of the coolest and unique moments of any slasher film. I think they should have left it as a standalone moment from the original classic only.

Khev those call backs are as cringing as they sound lol

What was Hereditary's cinema score? Asking for a friend. :monkey3

Hereditary so much better than this lame unscary bland Halloween movie.

They didn’t know if they wanted to ignore all the Halloween sequels or embrace them they were all over the place with it.

But what was the cinema score of Hereditary jye-sue? I hope you're not dodging the question. :lol

Hereditary has a strong first act but everyone acknowledges it has a weak, all over the place third act with a comedic floating head lady. :lol

No not all it’s true that Hereditary didn’t connect with audiences and won’t earn what a Halloween makes but you can’t compare the two.

One is a famous slasher franchise trying to remain relevant.

The other was a highly unique and creative take on the possession genre that went over some heads who were probably expecting a movie about Chucky’s grandparents lol

When Grace bashed it I knew Hereditary would be something special. :lol

The studio should have showered her with gifts then she would have loved it and said it was scary like the nun. :rotfl

All the characters were pretty lame and a bit underdeveloped, the film maker's choice of colors in scenes really didn't sell the Halloween holiday (a lot of whites, pastels, and off-grey colors), the 2018 problem of shoving comedy in too many scenes to the point where it kills any tension that has been building, a plot that is a bit all over the place, and the guy playing Myers didn't seem to get the character at all. Very stiff and robotic.

This is the "everything you feared is true" review for me.

lulz i’m happy to see Carpenter back in the spotlight being nuts

Oh man Carpenter’s face when looking at Gay Blum’s crossed legs is hilarious to say the least

:lol

All kidding aside a really great interview with both geniuses who just so happen to make a so so Halloween movie lol

This is how I feel as I watched it a second time. I am not knocking any one who liked it okay but let me say my piece, This is why I hated this movie and thank God I didn't pay for this ****, Why are pple saying this movie was good, now that I really let it digest I liked Resurrection better than this and Rz 2nd movie cu it least they tried to do something different. I know RZ second is hated and resurrection, I to did not like them, but I will explain why I liked it better and that isn't saying much. Halloween resurrection brought something new to the table not the same old warn out rushed crap. Rz 2 I know wasn't the best, however he brought something new to it, made it his own. This Halloween was not its own. Felt very rushed, I sat their almost saying to myself wtf I scene this all done before. Over played and worn out. I will explain why. First, why transfer this mother ****er on Halloween again. No great ideas, just copy other movies. No suspense what so ever, no tension what so ever, no atmosphere what so ever, I am pretty much immune to horror movies scaring me and this had not one part where I was on the edge of my seat. They said he was more human in this, that was the biggest ****ing joke I ever heard. The way he killed pple was inhuman. He got shot in the shoulder and was fine. He got his fingers blasted off and was fine. Got hit by a car and was fine. So, who the **** said that he was more human in this was a joke. The movie was slow. I get it if your building up to a great conclusion, but what was left was a huge let down. I mean It didn't flow a bus crashes near Haddonfield, let us just copy the rest. They copied most of the scenes in different movies, such as 4 the gas station, 5 the funny cops, two as far as the killings in the homes. Halloween 2 with Michael going into both homes and killing both ladies. The characters were absolutely forgettable. LS was okay, pple saying she needs an award for this movie, wtf good acting did you see. When I think of good acting I think of Edward Norton in American History X or Denzel in training day, memorable movies. District 9 brought something new. Not money grab of a horrible horror movie. The other actors all forgettable I could have cared less for any of them because they were horrible side characters. I mean the daughter, was this just an act the whole movie of her being scared? It didn't flow at all then tricking Michael. God, how much worse can it get. But pple keep saying this was the best sequel. How can you say that when it was done like 10 times and in some, they were done in much more innovated ways.

I can go on and on why this was awful. the climax was like similar to getting a hot girl to sleep with you and you find out she is a guy. The ending was atrocious and he has been burned before, what this will stop him now? I mean my God. I would of been happy if this movie never existed now. It was like looking forward to Christmas and finding out you had no gifts under the tree, a huge let down. That is how I feel about this movie, let us hype it up and then be bored the whole movie and watch reruns of different scenes from different Halloween movies just updated. If you go for kills then that was the one thing that was cool. But again, it has all been done in better ways.

It brought nothing new, brought nothing innovated, it brought a sloppy boring ass movie. I just watched it again to see if I missed something exciting or missed something that others see because they are saying this movie is great. Such a miss of a movie. I liked all them better than this one, even resurrection now that I think of it because at least they brought something new. Not something, that is played out and know nothing about horror. 2 out of 10 for at least giving us a new Myers movie. Best sequel of them all, ya okay seeing as they copied the sequels. Not my fault pple like bad horror movies these days. This new generation likes **** movies. I grew up with these movies, I saw nothing new at all, except the mask. It got 80 percent, I believe because they pay reviewers off. This was in no way a good movie or even an average movie. It was awful and I grew up with all these movies. I grew up in the 70's. Pple like boring movies with no innovation these days. Me and friend watched this and he felt the same way, almost like wtf did I just watch, was it halloween 2,4,5,6,7. At least h2o gave me the chills and some tension. Better ending.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

Man that was an awesome read lol

He/She got a point I would have to agree with most of it other than the Resurrection part.

I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again.

RZ Halloween movies are the most brutal movies of a slasher named “Michael Myers”.

NOT THE SHAPE NOT THE BOOGEYMAN BUT MICHAEL MYERS!”

If you want the best Shape/Boogeyman movie then obviously H78 can’t be beat remember that his Michael Myers name was just a vessel.

But if I want a grungy violent af slasher movie with a detailed backstory on the killer mixed in with occult elements then i’ll watch the RZ movies.

Halloween 82 even though much less gorier is even better than H18!

What occult elements were in the RZ movies? Plus, the family he gave MM would have made anyone a serial killer, so it's not like the unneeded backstory he gave MM was anything particularly unique.

If you want a terrible movie about a white trash serial killer with a tedious hackey backstory RZ is definitely the best Halloween.

Im going to have to agree with your friend. As a longtime Myers fanatic I was pretty disappointed by this.

Also there is a twist that occurs 1/3 of the way through (I won't spoil it) that is very stupid (we are talking Last Jedi levels of stupid) and threatens to derail the entire freaking movie. Luckily it doesn't go off the rails for too long. But it was ridiculous enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing.

I also don't get why they couldn't have included a few of the better sequels in the canon of this one. They even seem to ignore the ending of h1 to make this work. It wouldn't have been that hard to work H2 and H20 into this story with just a couple changes, and would have preserved a bit of the continuity.

Omg finally pple that understand my pain. Lol!

Maybe I’m being too hard on him. Based on how bad his Halloween movies are, he still would have been a better choice for TLJ.

His mother being his beacon from the other side.

The white trash horrible vile people even the good characters had problems is what I enjoyed about them I need a shower after watching them.

They’re disgusting vile brutal movies just like his Devil Rejects movie so in other words real life in certain households and towns. :lol

It’s my go to slasher movie if I want to be grossed out by every character not just the killer lol

MM is a locomotive killing machine in them.

So yeah that.

I'm quoting this the next time you bash movies like Trick 'r Treat and Pumpkinhead. They are both masterpieces compared to any Rob Zombie films.

Crape baldy, didn't you just say this to me yesterday?

"You don't have to say anything. If you don't like what I have said so much then place me on ignore if you want. Some folks on here place the last two Star Wars films over the older ones and I don't care. I'm sorry my opinion doesn't match yours."

"I like H2 and it's a good sequel but it's not directed by Carpenter and he was drunk when he wrote that retcon with Laurie being Myers sister."

You can ignore me as well, obviously, you can't hypocrite. Come on seriously!

I hate RZ’s movies and I also love that RZ is making movies. He’s the only guy making RZ movies and he has an audience. I love a guy who marches to his own drum, even if I hate the beat.
